July 6, 2012From the Cavaliers-
“The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed 2012 NBA Draft picks, guard Dion Waiters (Syracuse) and forward/center Tyler Zeller (North Carolina), to contracts, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced today from Cleveland Clinic Courts. Per league and team policy, terms of the contracts were not announced.
Waiters, 20, was selected by the Cavs with the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Zeller, 22, was drafted 17th overall by the Dallas Mavericks and his draft rights were acquired by the Cavs in a draft night trade.”
The News Herald’s Bob Finnan speculated on twitter that Waiter’s deal is for 4 years $16.7 million. Zeller’s is for 4 years and $7.4 million. They are both 2-year deals with 2 year options. Following those rookie deals, Waiters and Zeller could be restricted free agents.

Good. Now let’s get this thing going.
Irving. Zeller. Waiters. YOLO.
They are signed one week after the draft. Why can’t the Browns (or most of the NFL, for that matter) sign picks within two and a half months? I don’t get it
Ladies and gentlemen… welcome to Titletown. No but seriously, I’m already excited to see the Cavs play. Hurry up October.
Now lets resign Gee and get to summer league action.
I was waiting for this post.
YEP CUZ THE NFL AND NBA ARE THE SAME THING AND CONTRACTS WORK THE SAME WAY YUP ALSO OH YEAH THE PEOPLE RUNNING THE TEAMS ARE THE SAME SOOOOO
I can honestly say I am becoming more of a basketball fan than a football fan. And I give all the credit to Dan Gilbert and his obvious undying will to win. Its easy to root for a team that does things the right way. Even if it doesn’t always go as planed.
