Josh Gordon: Being Drafted by Browns is “Dream Come True”

I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to become part of such a prestigious organization as the Cleveland Browns. I can’t wait to get started and acclimated to a new city as well as the team. I want to be able to contribute to the offense in any way I can, and I am ready to come in and work hard to make that happen. I enjoyed my visit there last week, and was very impressed with all of the people I met, including Mr. Heckert. I have also had the chance to speak with Coach Shurmur on several occasions and I am looking forward to the opportunity to play for him. Being taken this high in the supplemental draft and mentioned among the likes of the Bernie Kosar is a humbling experience in itself, as well as a dream come true.

– Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who was taken in the second round of Thursday’s NFL Supplemental Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch Gordon is assumed to be stepping into a starting role with the team at some point in the near future.

We have no prestige. That died Long ago. :(

  • mgbode

    Howie Long died?

  • mgbode

I don’t care if someone fed him the Kosar line. I like it.

“The likes of THE Bernie Kosar.”
Winning over both Browns and Buckeyes fans with one fell swoop.

  • Harv 21

duh, kind of obvious someone fed him the paragraph. At least this confirms he has an agent teed up who might get him into camp on time.

  • Jaker

    WOW. That’s awesome.

  • CLEorFAIL

I just teared up a little bit.

  • BrownsFanSF

We won’t be won over by simple flattery! But please, do go on…

  • Wendigo

i’ll take his attitude of Perez’

  • wendigo

    over*

  • Ezzie Goldish

Sure, he clearly was fed exactly what to say. But I’ll take it!

  • http://twitter.com/kylerulli Kyle Rulli

Well spoken kid. He’ll fit in nicely with the rest of the gang, I think.

  • porkchopexpress

He wasn’t fed that line and stop calling me sure. ( might be the closest chance I get to sneek an Airplane refernce in)

  • mgbode

    surely, you jest.

  • Mark

Sounds good but I hate how everybody now uses “humbling” for all kinds of reasons. Probably mainly that all these guys use it when they mean the exact opposite. Failing humbles you, not succeeding or being flattered. Guess he can’t say the truth, he feels prideful or cocky, but saying the opposite just makes it sound like they don’t know what the word means.

He also went on to say “F LBJ” & Go Cavs/Tribe.. What # is he wearing????? I need the jersey.

  • JK

Also, Mr. Gordon.. if you could pick between the numbers 2,5,17, & 80 that would be lovely. I’m trying to go green (not like your green, like.. recycling green) & I already have those jerseys, all I would need is the back name plate! Thanks.

  • Vindictive_Pat

I think he meant Chris Long.

  • MrCleaveland

Gawd, I have a vintage Garcia too. It’s a beautiful jersey with an authentic look. I found it in the bargain bin for $5 a few months after he left. I too could use a reason to wear it.

  • eldaveablo

    Airplane? What is it?

  • Garry_Owen

Can a WR wear #40? I’m at a loss as to what I should do with mine. At present, I’m thinking about just taping over the zero with brown duct tape and changing the nameplate to read “Dawson.” Would be sweet.

  • Garry_Owen

On an unrelated note, who are the Negative Nancys that downgrade almost every post? It’s hilarious. I mean, what was disagreeable with what you wrote? It was clever, funny, and entertaining; yet, you’ve scored a -1 to go with your +9 (at least at the time of this reply).
I think you need to step up your role as our resident Guru. There’s still a lot of negative energy here, man.

  • JK

I have a 40 too.. I left that off cuz it seemed a little unrealistic. I also have a 92 if we wanna add that to the list.

  • BuckeyeDawg

Can’t lose with a Dawson jersey. I’d do it.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

He was clearly high when his agent wrote that for him! ;-)

  • Vindictive_Pat

It’s a big, metal flying thing with wings, but that’s not important right now…

  • Petefranklin

I picked a bad week to stop amphetamines.

  • BrownsFanSF

I’ll try to burn some extra incense on the Jerry Garcia alter during our group meditation. I think that’s how they solve stuff out here :-)

  • eldaveablo

    Yes.

  • Jaker

    I have a #92 as well, along with everyone’s favorite #2

  • Chuck

It’s a completely different kind of feeding, altogether.

  • Harv 21

that would be me, pre-coffee. Once caffeinated I undo as much of the damage wrought as I can remember.

Btw, is it me or is everyone actually more attractive in the Starbucks line than on the street outside?
