News came yesterday that the Browns had cut kicker Jeff Wolfert from the 90-man roster. Wolfert is in his second year out of Missouri, and he was in training camp last season with the Browns as well. In the first two preseason games, Wolfert connected on 2-of-3 field goals (including the game-winner in Detroit) and made all 3 PATs. Phil Dawson, of course, barring any injury will be the Browns’ kicker in the upcoming season.
And, as Scott hinted at from training camp earlier today, this move may have been with another addition in mind.
Pat Shurmur hints that the waiving of Wolfort was to make a space available on the 90-man. #Browns
