Never forget Josh Cribbs’ difficult NFL path
August 16, 2012What We’re Watching: Browns at Packers
August 16, 2012According to his twitter-feed, New Albany sports anchor Andrew Catalon will be stepping in for Jim Donovan during tonight’s Browns vs Packers preseason game-
Jim Donovan is a little under the weather, so I will be pinch-hitting on WKYC tonight for Browns-Packers at Lambeau. Get well soon, Jim.

We do not know anything about Donovan’s condition. Donovan of course missed three months last year due to treatment for Leukemia. He has looked very good at training camp in WFNY’s opinion. Hopefully this illness tonight is completely unrelated.
Andrew Catalon replaced Donovan in the booth for the Browns’ preseason games last year.

Hope he’s alright. Donovan is a treasure and makes listening to The Browns more exciting then it really is.
This probably means more Bernie and while I’m still a Kosar fan man can that guy coach, I mean commentate.
I hope it’s nothing. It is possible. Leukemia ultimately affects the immune system, and I’m sure he’s more susceptible to normal “minor” illnesses. I hope he’s okay.
More Bernie is a good thing. I hope Jim is alright becaus I like listening to him. But Bernie gives insight to things that a normal people (myself) dont pick up on right away. Bernie gets flack and Ill be the first to admit he ruins some basic sentences but I like how he sees the game and his brutal honesty.
Quote from last week. “It must be something about the number. Because neither team has a number 86 that can run a route.”
or
“Shurmur still pleading his case to the blind ref.” Awesome!
Jim Donovan scares Chuck Norris ess-less. One tough hombre.
He goes overboard he doesn’t have to use his expertise on virtually every play lets remember these are preseason games.
Yes. You’ve stated exactly why I love listening to him. He’s so different from the usual canned analysts (I’m looking – no glaring, murderously, even – at you, CBS) that I can’t help but love when he calls the games. If Dieken ever quits the radio broadcasts, I would LOVE to have Bernie in the radio booth full-time. Sentence-mangling and all.
Get well soon Jim!
Its only 4 games. And they are preseason. Have fun with it.
