Video: Josh Cribbs Sustains Hit to Head in Baltimore
September 28, 2012Castrovince: Name Alomar the Manager and be Done with it
September 28, 2012Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers.
Ugh. Another week, another loss. Once again, the Browns had the opportunity to win a game- but it slipped through their fingers…
LOSER: Joe Haden and Dimitri Patterson. He led the team in tackles with 11. There’s a good reason for that. The Ravens picked on him constantly. Baltimore did a good job of getting him matched up on Anquan Boldin, who finished with 9 catches for 131 yards. Of course we all remember why Patterson was on the field so much in the first place.
LOSER: Josh Cribbs. What a vicious hit. Seriously hope Josh recovers from that one. Bad enough to be knocked out by a shoulder pad to the head then to have your head snap back to the ground, but then to be spiked in the face as well? Brutal. But then Travis Benjamin took Cribbs’ place on the return teams and did a really good job, averaging 23.5 yards on kickoff returns and breaking a nice 40 yard punt return.
Winner: Phil Dawson. What a stud.
Winner: Trent Richardson. Fourth game for the rookie, and he scored his fourth touchdown. Last year Josh Cribbs led the team with 5 touchdowns.
Loser: Greg Little. Could have made a bunch of people change their opinion on him. Could have.
As always, it’s your turn…

I don’t know. It worked for KC last weekend 🙂
Who are you, again?
It is “Cleveland West,” after all.
Yeah, I meant to mention that… really had textbook positioning in his coverage and busted his butt to get there in time to pick off the pass. Loved it! It might be about time to have this guy playing full time (meaning having him play at weakside LB instead of Maiava in our base 4-3 defense). He’s got sideline to sideline speed, he can cover passing routes, he can tackle… perfect for that spot.
Actually I think he’s got a point… not 3-1, but I could see 2-2. The Bengals abused our backup CBs and that was the biggest reason for that loss. Last night, I fully believe we win with Haden shutting down one side of the field… Boldin certainly doesn’t have the same night that he had and Haden probably comes away with the pick that Patterson dropped.
I would argue that you are being more of a pessimist than a realist. Reality is that we have an absurdly young team (including Weeden who isn’t really young, but you know what I mean). Anyone who had expectations of winning this season was kidding themselves. But I think it’s hard to say there are not reasons for optimism… Weeden is obviously our best QB prospect since Tim Couch, T-Rich is breaking tackles and learning where to be, Schwartz and the offensive line are holding up better, we have undrafted linebackers playing well for us, our defensive line looks to have fantastic depth. There’s plenty to be optimistic about.
Need to loft one up at the end, or throw a fastball rocket to a reciever in the endzone on last play. Then again there were multiple men with purple on breathing down his neck
On that long ravens td pass, they had a LB dropping back in coverage and he didn’t make it back to the ball in time
Like his speed on PR, but you think we need someone who can break that first tackle on KO?
I haven’t looked closely at the film of either hail mary at the end, but I can’t figure out why Richardson’s not in on either (at least I don’t think that he was). I would just as soon take my chances on a complete pass to a wide open Richardson in the middle of the field with about 10 yards to go to the end zone as I would a classic hail mary. Why not have Richardson stay in to “block” for a few seconds, and then scream down field, all alone, when everyone else is camped out in the end zone? I’m sure there’s a reason that these plays aren’t designed that way, but why not – especially with the “hands” we had last night at WR?
I’m an investigative reporter, I write under the name Jane Doe.
He was a loser this summer when he made his mistake, and we know it. Nothing about that changed last night, just because the rest of our secondary is garbage
Winner: Weeden. Victim of drops more so than the stats show. They only counted 2 drops for Little? There were way more. Plus so many catchable balls off the hands to Benjamin, Cameron, and Norwood. A few were contested/well covered, but our WRs need to make a play and catch at least a few of these.

Look, Warburton (if that is in fact your real name) I love you. I mean that, and not in some virtual internetist kind of way. Keep doing what you do, we’ll do the same and it will be beautiful. And remember, of all the people who post here, you’re one of them.
That’s rite.
Man, I like working here. When do we get paid?
⬆ Hey Warburton, you should listen to him. I happen to know that Harv 21 is his real name.
We are reminded of a quote by paymaster Hawkeye as he peeled off a small stack of singles for mess hall Pvt. Igor:
“Don’t you think that taking money sort of cheapens the war?”
during the Superbowl parade on E 9th street
If it wan’t for all those pass attempts the Browns wouldn’t have lost by 7,maybe Baltimore threw as much but THEY have some good recievers…we have at best servicable wide outs. I watched the whole damn game,I also watched the Ravens RB’s eventually get yardage on a tired defense. Harbaugh was also an idiot,he should have put this game on the backs of his RB’s,which does not mean Shurmer did any better. Although in Harbaughs deffense his recievers were generally open, and his QB could put the ball where they would catch it,Weedon did not. Our secondary sucked on Thursday, just like they have for 3 out of 4 games this can’t be all due to Haden being out,in fact I bet we still lose once he is back.
Yup Warbuton is my real name…and I will admit at least one of the comments I thought did eventually show up,and yes the other was laced with profanity, oops I do make mistakes, and I am way bitter about the team this year,do notice my last comment above yours was voted down 5 times, heh. I will also admit I do come to this site for the optomisim. Otherwise thanks Harv excluding questioning the name.
well I will also admit being a pessimist in the case Browns will hopefully, always.hopefully at some point make me plesantly surprised, granted I am still waiting. I have been waiting since the double overtime playoff victory over the Jets..the tickets to the game in the dog pound were my Christmas gift that year,so at least the only Browns playoff game I attended was a win,my brother and I had to bus home because our ride left early thinking we couldn’t win,my boy got pissed about that cause our ride was her brother and our uncle…
My eyes are good my ears/hearing sucks.
Diagnosis: acute optical rectitis
I think you forgot to mention Greg Little.
this is just chops-busting, Warb. We do that here, intended in good fun.
To be fair, they made a run at a couple WRs they liked. Those WRs didn’t like us back. I wouldn’t want Colt throwing me the ball either.
YEH BRING BACK COLT HES SO GUD!
BOOK IT!
How about converting Greg Little to CB?
why in the hell did this comment get a down vote???
