Holy Crap, Holmgren NOT being here next year is +150? Let me find my debit card real quick….
Can someone explain the Russell Wilson love? Before the draft he was a marginal prospect, a team with a history of reaching reached for him in the draft, now everybody seems to think he’ll outperform Luck & RG3. Why?
I thought he was going to be a stud from the start. Wanted the Browns to pick him up. People just see that he’s short and write him off. If he was 6’3 and did everything else the exact same way he wouldve been a higher pick than Tannehill.
I want to ask Haslam then bet the farm
I want to ask Haslam then bet the farm
Id take TRich to break 1000
Truthfully, I’d take the under on every single one of those guys, I’d say Holmgren was gone next year, the only one of those coaches who’d possibly be fired before Shurmur would be Whisenhunt, and Weeden will be fifth on that list of five.
If Weeden were 6’11” and did everything the same way, he’d have been worth taking in first round. Hell, if I were 8’7″ and did everything the same way I’d rule this planet.
because Pete Carroll is super-excited about him! (wait, he gets super-excited about everyone).
truthfully, he has a better team around him than the other rookie QBs. however, he is not going to out-perform Luck. in the preseason, he made his best plays rolling out of the pocket and they will likely keep that up. defenses will adjust and he’ll struggle.
but, he’s on a team with a good defense, good running game and some interesting WR options. in a division where SF “could” take a step back and the Rams/Cards are terrible, there is a chance to make some playoff noise (probably best chance of rookie QBs to make playoffs)
Would Bovada take Haslam’s bet? I would love for the new owner to take down the house, then put that money right back into the stadium, or product on the field. Not a bad way to get a quick return on your investment.
I wouldn’t go as far as saying he’ll outperform Luck and Griffin immediately but possibly over the long haul, mmmmmaybe at least Griffin. I liked Wilson alot out of college I liked his poise, his athletic ability, his arm, his legs and most importantly his football IQ. He learned two very different styles having played at two different colleges and excelled at both. The only drawback he has is height. I’m guessing he’ll more then make up for it.
I’m glad being a Wilson fan he wasn’t drafted by this team. Tannehill will be a great comparison to Weeden. He has worse WRs then Weeden so lets see which one of those two does better in 2012.
Gotta like Richardson getting at least 7 rushing TDs.
I’d take the;
Under on Weeden. We’re going to run the football a lot.
Over on Trich. He’ll play every game, even with injuries (unless our coach is fired mid-season).
Under on Little. After a couple drops/bad routes Weeden will look for other WR’s/TE’s.
Over on Sheard. Who else can consistently get to the QB?
Under on Haden. The suspension hurts, and considering our other DB’s, the ball should rarely go his way.
No for Holmgren. By the time Haslem officially takes ownership, we should have one of the worst records in the league. No way Holmgren survives that.
Rex Ryan for the first coach fired. The Jets are ripe for implosion and those 5/1 odds are tempting. Being mediocre for another year won’t be good enough (sadly, that same accomplishment would bring praise to Shurmur in Cleveland).
Luck for the most passing yards. Indi will be better than people think.
Over on Weeden passing for 195/game (but not by much)…McCoy threw for 2700 and missed 3 games. 195/game is less than 3200 yards for the season. If Weeden plays all 16 games and doesn’t throw for 3200 yards, we need to draft another QB.
Over on TRich rushing for 1000 yds. 1000 yds. is only 63 yards per game. If he stays healthy he should get there pretty easily.
Chances of TRich going for 1000 yards and not getting at least 7 TD’s is pretty small…Plus they will likely be throwing to him quite a bit, so I’ll take the over on 6.5 TD’s for TRich.
Greg Little with 850+ yards receiving? That’s probably about where he should be…but if I have to choose, I’ll take the over. Barely.
Five sacks for Sheard? Over. (not really a high number here)
Haden with 2.5 INT’s? Under. Teams aren’t going to throw at him much.
Holmgren will be gone next season. Rex Ryan will be the first coach fired, and Andrew Luck will throw for the most yards.
i just like that people think we might not have the worst WR corps in the NFL anymore 🙂
No Miami hands down at least on paper before a game that counts is ever played. The Rams aren’t that much better then probably the Browns. I wish they had signed a veteran in free agency or even picked up someone like Gaffney just to make it a little easier for Weeble. The TEs could be his new best friends.
