Browns Inactives: Hagg, Jackson out vs Bills
September 23, 2012Browns lose as a team to Bills 24-14
September 23, 2012
A huge game in many ways for the Browns moving forward as they host the Buffalo Bills in Cleveland this afternoon. The Browns will look to keep up their offense rhythm from last week’s loss to the Bengals while also hopefully improving a bit on the defensive side.
From the leadership side of things, many are already saying how bad a loss would be for the combination of Mike Holmgren and Pat Shurmur in terms of their future with the franchise. Obviously, we all know Holmgren might be out already when Jimmy Haslam III has his hands on things, but an 0-3 start wouldn’t really give off a great first impression of Shurmur either.
Come join with us in the fun and share your thoughts in the comments as the game moves forward. Check out some links as well after the jump.

Hope Browns come to play
Annnnd apparently they have not
3rd and 15 and we have a 5 yd check down? How is this better than colt? Can we have a 3rd down conversion comparison between the 2?
Welp, I’m getting chores done today I guess.
Lolololololol this team is such a joke.
Thanks for getting suspended Joe Haden! At least our pass defense isn’t atrocious.
The Browns have already lost this game.
Anyone else done with Cribbs?
The sooner Heckert realizes that Greg Little was a gigantic mistake, the better off we’ll be.
I feel like an awful person for this, but I bet on the Bills for this game. Whenever a “lottery” team is calling a Week 3 game a must win, the desperation practically garauntees over compensation and a loss. (“Lottery” because I don’t know what else to call a going to be non-play-off NFL team.) Why try to win now when so much is still broken and needs fixed? Games like this should be used to work on developing the WCO and seeing who fits for next year and who doesn’t. If the Bills lose because Spiller is out, it’s only going to hurt the Browns in the long run.
YES! I don’t care how fast he can run. His hands suck and he had no field vision. Exactly the wrong player for the WCO.
The veterans on this team really let the team down in the first half and showed that they don’t know how to win. Ben Watson – huge first play easy drop, way to put your rook QB in an immediate hole. Cribbs – ridiculous decision to run out a kick off that he ran laterally to catch 5 yards deep away from his wedge. Jackson – killed the momentum at a crucial time with an idiotic penalty. Little’s drop.
Watson had a small role on a Patriots team. The others have no experience winning in the NFL, regardless of their tenure. The team would be better off following Richardson and Weeden and Winn as leaders, right now.
Playing for draft pick in week 3?
Just go away.
How often is he going to throw into coverage and miss the open man?
in his defense, Cribbs ran out kicks 2 other times when he was back against the endline, and he ran them out past the 25.
Let’s Go Brownies!!!!
This pass defense is just terrible, and they get worse in the red zone. Twice today, wide open over the middle.
PUNT!??!!?!?!?! Fire this guy now.
You think it’s realistic for the Browns to be playing for a play-off spot?
The Browns aren’t one game away from turning it all around. They have the worst roster in the league and they have a rookie QB with maybe 3 years before he’s broken down.
How could you suggest such a thing? Just give him time! (haha)
Hey MGBode — looks like our pre-season bet is going to go my way brother.
I disagree on the roster thing; teams whose roster has less potential than ours:
1. Buccaneers
2. Rams
3. Seahawks
As for Weeden, we shall see. I’m not ready to sell him down the river yet.
Shurmur is absolutely gutless. What is he waiting for on 4th and 9, down two scores with just 6 minutes to play? Sure they got jobbed on the holding call, but GO FOR THE WIN!!!
Weeden’s good. TRich is good. Defense is good (with Haden in the lineup). Coaching is poor to terrible.
I’ve been saying that about Shurmur since week 1, last season.
Now (most of you) see what I saw then.
I’m just wondering what qualifies you as a fan. You put your money down against your team, and you’re rooting for them to lose before the end of September.
If he celebrates another first-down or dances in the end zone again someone should smack him.
Ahhh! He’s back!!!
I’ve just been so possessed with wonder in watching this team I haven’t had the time to post.
I don’t see how Shurmur can survive this start. Tipping point for me was the two consecutive play-action plays in long-yardage situations. Just inexcusable.
Hate getting to the point every fall where I begin justifying the benefits of doing things other than watching the Browns on Sundays.
LoL 0-3 nothings changed with a short week and Baltimore next.
Yep. We’re sunk.
