If Sandy gets the job, any chance he gets Acta to be his bench coach?
“Acta was also in Washington when Brown was the scouting director,
putting together the powerhouse which came within one out of reaching
the National League Championship Series.”
that is just worded strangely. as if there is any connection in a team that added Werth, Harper, Morse (not on Nats until after Acta fired in ’09), Desmond (ditto), Espinosa, or LaRoche
starting lineup carry-overs from Acta are R.Zimmerman and J.Flores (who played only 83 games)
Gio, Strasburg, Edwin – all new since then too
So, the carry-overs from Acta are:
J.Zimmerman – who was a rookie and only pitched into June before shutting it down with elbow issues
Lannan/Detwiler – who fought each other to be the Nats SP5 this year
