Buckeyes ranked fourth in pre-season AP poll

For the second straight season The Ohio State men’s basketball team enters the year ranked in the Associated Press top five. The Buckeyes start the season ranked fourth, matching their ranking in the pre-season coaches’ poll.

The top five in the AP poll looks identical to the rankings as voted on by the coaches. Indiana is the national favorite, collecting 43 of 65 first place votes. Bluegrass rivals Louisville and Kentucky rank second and third respectively, with Ohio State and Michigan rounding out the top five.

Michigan State (14) and Wisconsin (23) give the Big Ten five teams in the top 25, tops for any conference in the country.

    And 3rd in Big Ten pre-season poll….hmmmm
Nice to see that Big Ten looks to be one of the powerhouse conferences, even if in basketball. I think the coaches have had a lot to do with the success in the big ten.

Big Ten is to hoops what SEC is to football these days. Wouldn’t be surprised to see multiple teams from the conference in the Final Four. Go Bucks!

except, if we did see multiple teams in the final four, it would be based on merit, not coaches’ voting or some crappy computer programs.

At least the national poll has us ahead of MIchigan. I see why Indiana is ranked so high, and even OSU, but why Michigan ?? Nice for the big ten. Let’s hope the big ten is really the dominant hoops conference.
