Cavaliers News: Cavs Sign D’Aundray Brown

From the Cavaliers-

“The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard D’Aundray Brown to a contract, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced today from Cleveland Clinic Courts. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

Brown, 24, played in 115 games (91 starts) at Cleveland State University, averaging 7.8 points on .487 shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 28.4 minutes per game. As a senior in 2011-12, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound native of Youngstown, OH, played in 26 games (25 starts) and averaged 10.8 points on .457 shooting to go along with 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.5 steals in 29.7 minutes per game.”

This brings the roster to an unofficial count of 18. Which means the Cavs will now have to cut three players before next week’s opening game instead of two.

    I hope they don’t keep a guard over a big just because of Boobie’s injury and Kyrie teeth.

    Unless Gibson’s injury is worse than it seems.

    Wisdom teeth take like a day or two to recover from. Sure he will have holes in his mouth and be spitting blood until his mouth heals, but I ran in a track meet in HS a day after having mine out.

    What the heck? This seems like a real head-scratcher to me. Maybe they feel he is an elite defensive player or something? Tough to determine that from how a guy plays in college though. Who did this guy play for in the preseason/summer league?

    Diop angry. Diop know no why they sign more player. Diop think Cav team too many shooter player already. Diop think Cav team big man. Big man low play tough defense. No let anyone come to orange rim or glass wall. Diop wish younger sign back with Cav team be big man no let any little player come to orange rim. Diop say rinny toon fort night swathy go moon lion break. Diop gone.

    He’s being sent to Canton. They had to sign him before that happens though.

    I figured they probably would, but I still wonder why they decided to grab him? Brown wasn’t really on anyone’s radar from what I can tell. He wasn’t drafted and I don’t think he even got an invite to summer league? I tried to find that out and didn’t see anything.

    No doubt that Kyrie will be ready for Opening Day. Dental is basically routine, minor surgery anyway. Little recovery time.
