Shurmur confirms that T.J. Ward had thumb surgery

Daryl Ruiter and a host of other Browns beat reporters all reported from their talks with Pat Shurmur this morning that T.J. Ward had surgery on his right thumb. It was also reportedly the same procedure that Bubba Ventrone had previously. Ward is considered “day-to-day” for whatever that means.

The Browns have the Super Bowl champion New York Giants coming up this weekend. The Giants lost to the Eagles 19-17 when a 54-yard field goal came up short. The 54-yarder should have been a 44-yarder if not for a ten yard offensive pass interference penalty by Ramses Barden.

We’ll just have to see if T.J. Ward will be available this weekend to draw a similar penalty.

Key words: Defending Champs. Lets go Brownies! Playing their best games on the road, this would be a great time for win #1

Agreed, and definitely winnable. I know the Giants are a “name brand” but they have clear holes in their armor. The biggest test to me will be how our offensive line can handle their defensive line which is clearly their strength. Eli has also shown the ability to throw the ball into sketchy situations under pressure….so it would be nice if our D-line can have a “Eagles Game” like performance.

Obviously still the underdogs – but definitely winnable – and not just based on hope.

You remember the last time the Giants were SB champs and we played them in 2008? I sure do.

Braylon caught 5 for 154 and a TD and still got booed?

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Cling to those memories man cling to ‘em. You only remember so well because it has been the exception and not the norm.

He played at Michigan what would you expect! ;-)

  • mgbode

not true. we have defeated every single SB champ since then. beating the SB champs is just what we do.

*2011 SB Champ GB was only played during the pre-season. But, we beat them and we didn’t get to face them in the regular season.

  • mgbode

I remember the pass that clanged off his helmet, yes.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Sweet where can we hang that banner? Don’t forget the * to denote that said celebrated victory was during the regular season or even worse, the pre-season.

  • Garry_Owen

So, you won’t be happy if we win on Sunday?

  • The_Real_Shamrock

    I’ll b orgasmic!

  • Garry_Owen

    Whoa. TMI.
Why so surly then? Just for surly’s sake?

  • Robbie

I think I remember Eric Wright with a pick-6 in that game, too.

  • The_Real_Shamrock
