Ohio State schedules home-and-home series with Texas for 2022-23

Ohio State has a recent tradition of scheduling strong non-conference opponents, and on Wednesday, they announced another home-and-home series with the Texas Longhorns. The games are still a ways off, with the first being playing in Austin in 2022. OSU Athletic Director Gene Smith commented on the rationale for the big schedule news:

“Playing a program like the University of Texas always creates remarkable experiences for our players and fans,” Ohio State Director of Athletics Gene Smith said. “Our last series with the Longhorns contributed to the great history and tradition that Buckeye Nation enjoys.”

Texas and Ohio State played a home-and-home series in 2005 and 2006, with each team picking up a win on the road. It was far more rare to have two blue bloods of college football play each other in the non-conference in 2005-06, but under the new college football playoff system, it’s expected that teams will beef up their non-conference schedules. Last week, the Buckeyes announced a home-and-home series with TCU for 2018 and 2019.

    2022…

Over/Under of Richardson still our starting running back?

Over/Under Weeden still on the roster?

Over/Under Joe Thomas still on the roster?

    Who will be Browns coach?

    Terry Francona’s Indians’ legacy?

An MVP for Kyrie by then?

    Where is Waiters then?

    Over/Under LeBron is on Cavs?

    Any Cleveland championships?

    Ready…..set……respond…..

was really hoping the Buckeyes and Longhorns would make this a home-and-home every decade rather than every 20year affair.

oh well, the first 3 games were great. let the buildup begin for 2022 (and I do like how we are making sure that we have plenty of games in Texas. we need to recruit here more often. we have nationally competitive Pre-K flag football teams here. and, no, I am not kidding).

    or not…

Richardson will NOT be the Browns starting RB. 10 years is a LONG time for a RB to be in the NFL, let alone starting, let alone starting for the same team that drafted him.
Weeden will be long gone by then.
Joe Thomas will be in the twilight of a HOF career, still here, on Bernie-type level as far as fan admiration.
Francona will crash & burn with the Tribe. Unless Dolan open’s the pockets or sells the team. I prefer sell the team.
Kyrie will have at least 1 MVP by then, maybe 2.
Waiters will be the guy we talk about saying: “Remember that Waiters guy the Cavs drafted? What a headache he turned out to be. Glad we traded him to______.
Lebron will be back with the Cavs. I don’t know why, but I just feel he’ll come back before it’s all said & done.
Any Cleveland championships by 2022? Only if God truly exsists.

    Well done, Jay.

Better question is, will football 10 years from now even resemble the football being played today, or will it be closer to flag football?
