November 28, 2012Pat Shurmur said today that Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden, who suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was cleared to practice and will start Sunday “barring any unforeseen setbacks”.
Weeden described the concussion as his first, and added that it was “minor”.
“I’m ready to rock and roll,” said the rookie.
Weeden was courtside for the Cavaliers game last night, along with fellow teammates Joe Haden and Trent Richardson.
Free safety Usama Young (concussion), wide reciever Josh Cribbs (chest/shoulder) and safety Ray Ventrone (calf) did not participate in practice today. Cornerback Dimitri Patterson (ankle) was limited, but said he is close to 100 percent and hopes to play on Sunday.

I was kind of hoping to see Colt get a shot this week.
Babin claimed by Jags.
Whew. No worries about Raiders claiming him and putting him up against us this weekend.
why would you want to see Colt get shot? oh, misread, my mistake 🙂
“I’m ready to rock and roll!” Weeden exclaimed, hoping the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would let him in for half price next weekend.
Dang, was hoping that the Browns could claim him but the Jags legitimately suck, whereas we just have a fairly incompetent HC…
We do not need any QB controversies… If he does well against a terrible Raiders Team then what? Is he the new starting QB? Weeden has done a fine job and unless Colt has looked like a ‘rockstar’ in practice for the past few weeks (which is highly unlikely) then just stay put… I can assure you, we are fair from having the nice problems that San Fran is facing.
ew really?
Anyone else notice that Colt McCoy and Shumur didn’t even look eachother in the eye after his last play. He ran off the field right in front of him and didn’t even go up to talk to him.
Maybe if he(colt) played well against Oakland we could get a few first rounders for him.
he’d need to first blow his knee out and then pretend to retire
I did notice that.
Because Wurmur wouldn’t let him chuck the ball. Colt is a gunslinger, not a handoff factory.
