Shaky decisions haunt Browns as they lose and say hello to the bye
November 4, 2012D’Qwell Jackson: Poor execution is “tale of the Browns’ season”
November 4, 2012I believe Jeff Schudel asked Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden what the cause of using three timeouts because the team seemingly couldn’t get a call in by the end of the play clock.
Weeden quickly said, “I’m not.. I’m not going to comment on that.” Then he gave this look.
Who knows why Weeden wouldn’t comment, but you have to think that if he thought it was his fault, based on his previous willingness to take responsibility, that he would have done so.

Is the Shumur presser from today up somewhere? I would like to hear the Pat vs Tony conversation!!
Wasn’t much of a conversation. In a question, Tony referenced Shurmur’s “nature.” Pat answered by asking for clarity on the “nature” comment as Tony doesn’t know Pat and Pat doesn’t know Tony. If anyone makes anything bigger out of it, it’s simply for headlines sake.
Ugh, a RB lines up correctly and the next two weeks could have been much more pleasant Browns talk than we’re about to engage in. Instead, 8 weeks of coaching death watch. Ugh.
Thanks! Seen something on twitter about them…
Just remember this: he is a rookie, the man giving him the plays has been in the NFL for years…and, after two delay of game penalties, Shurmur couldn’t get a play into the huddle.
This man needs to be fired yesterday.
Watching the press conference he seemed extra smug and arrogant today… Needs to go tomorrow at the latest!
Yep, well said.
This was easily Weeden’s worst game since the debacle in the opener and it should come as no surprise that the offensive gurus of Shurmur and Childress did their rookie QB no favors.
If I’m not mistaken, two timeouts were burnt in the SAME DRIVE! Does this man not remember last year? You have to score touchdowns in this league, not try and create a Cleveland soccer team.
Did Weeden just poop?
at least the soccer team won some titles!
What Weeden said:
“I’m not. I’m not going to comment on that.”
What Weeden WANTED to say:
“I hated the burned timeouts. Good coaches should not let that happen. Our coach sucks. Fire this guy, seriously. Jimmy, are you there? It’s me, Brandon, your Franchise QB. Just cut the cord with this guy already.”
It would have been that much better after a 25-19 loss?
At least then we couldn’t talk about a game with 0 Offensive Touchdowns…
Weeden is not going to say, “it’s not my fault. It was my head coach’s fault.”
The reason he can’t say that is because he won’t front out, the person that gave him a job, let alone the starting position in which he clearly didn’t deserve.
Weeden’s comment was just as bad as when the GOP canidate from also texas said, “I just stepped in it, didn’t I !” I dont think I need to even mention his name either.
Oh come on. obviously, there is little chance that would have been the score if we scored a TD (no need for weird failed 4th and 2 deep in our own territory which put Ravens, already leading, point blank for another TD). But you know that.

The McCoy family loves this website.
Stop calling him a rookie, he played pro baseball, he should be mature enough, faced enough tough situations, man up. He’s not that good, great arm, but no brains and a coward.
I think if you ask any/all NFL players they will tell you that there is nothing like that league when it comes to speed/power/the players. Everyone who makes it to that level has to adjust, in some way, to the amount of talent around him. Weeden is no exception to this rule and so he was in every sense of the word, a rookie.
Remember the Force!! They were awesome!
Right, I always blame my supervisor for key problems that lose us accounts.. Always, because pointing out obvious blame for problems that were out of my control is healthy and productive… OR, taking blame for crap that is out of my control shows leadership and ability (NOT!)…
Seriously? We’d have gone up 19-14 with Gordon’s TD. When Baltimore drove down and scored, they’d go for 2 to make it 22-19.
That still leaves the Browns down by a score (granted, a FG instead of a TD) with 4th and 2. You think Shurmur wouldn’t go for it?
Weeden is from Oklahoma.
