12 Days of a Cleveland Christmas is back!

If you are new to WFNY, you may not know that we love to give back to our readers. It’s our way to say thank you for reading and supporting the WFNY community.

Here’s how the giveaway works. For the next 12 weekdays we will give away a Cleveland themed prize. To enter, you need only to respond in the comment section in the appropriate manner. The winner each day will be randomly selected and notified by email. (Which means you better make sure that the email address you use to comment here is a legit one.) I cannot guarantee delivery by Christmas. We’ll do our best with the things we have in hand. Only one member of a household can enter each day, and only one winner per household during the length of this contest. Just spreading the love around.

Today’s Prize:

The winner today will receive a WFNY Wine and Gold t-shirt and a pair of tickets to the December 11th game against the Los Angeles Lakers!

The tickets will be transferred via Flash Seats, so the winner will need to have or set up an account there. (It’s a piece of cake to do.)

Today’s Question:

Before I ask the question, remember that to enter you need to 1) re-state the question and 2) answer the question. Simple right? OK, today’s question is this-

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Comments must be posted by midnight Cleveland time in order to qualify for the drawing. Check back tomorrow at noon for the results. Remember, only one entry is allowed, but you may still comment to add to the discussion.

Good luck!

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Larry Nance. I was there the night his Jersey was retired, and he got a lifetime supply of Krispy Kreme donuts.

  • cshillz

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Delonte West, because he seems like a lot of fun and has the same taste in food as me

  • Alec McCartney

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Definitely Austin Carr. Get some awesome commentary with the live game.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Brad Daugherty, so we can talk NASCAR. I don’t care much for basketball.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?
Brad Daugherty He was my favorite growing up and I would love to hear his take on today’s NBA.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Austin Carr. Because it’s Austin Carr.

World B. Free. He wouldn’t block my view, and I just want to call someone World and not feel stupid.

  • JNeids

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Shaq. I think the dude is hilarious and maybe he might be willing to talk about his time with the team a little more in depth…

Which former Cavalier would I most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Here’s an answer I don’t think anybody is expecting…Damon Jones. He just seems like an incredibly fun personality to be around, and he’s the most self-confident guy I’ve ever heard talk about his 3PT shot. One of my all-time favorite Cavs games was in 2008 against the Wizards, where we had just made that blockbuster trade for Ben Wallace, Delonte West, etc…and they hadn’t been cleared to play yet. We only had 7 guys in uniform. It was LeBron James, Damon Jones, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Eric Snow, and 3 D-Leaguers. LeBron did his usual thing and Jones miraculously scored 27 points, and we won the game.

  • Brad

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Shaq, for two main reasons. First, Shaq would be a remarkable person to watch a game with, probably much more personable than he is on TNT with the cameras off. Second, I want to know the real story of what went down in the Boston series in 2010. I will buy that book one day.

  • Tim

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Mark Price. He was my favorite player when I was growing up, and I think he’d have a lot of interesting things to say about the game.

  • cmm13

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Ron Harper, my absolute favorite Cavalier growing up. I was really sad the day I learned he was traded. I then cried my eyes out when I learned who we got back for him.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

I’ve gone back and forth on this for HOURS and no matter how far my mind roams it keeps coming back to Delonte, for both the entertainment value and quality of snacks he will surely bring. However, I plan to purchase a seat on my other side for Lenny Wilkins. This situation fairly cries out for a semblance of balance. With Lenny I’ll have a chance to emerge intact at the buzzer.

  • Toddyu

I’m going to have to say Lebron James, and if I “accidentally” spill my brand new beer on him, I will, of course, laugh hyster… er, apologize profusely. Actually I think the day that happens, I’m going to be in the mood for some piping hot hot chocolate. That might dampen his talents and heat up his South Beach. (ba dum bum!)

  • REEPJP

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Delonte….he’ll make sure that someone has accounted for enough donuts and hot sauce to last the duration of the game.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why? I would like to sit by Mark Price. He has always been a clas act in Cleveland and we really need more people like him representing CLE!! What is he doing these days, anyways?

  • Timothy

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Mark Price. Because, honestly, who would pass up a chance to meet Mark Price?

  • Hopwin

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?
One? Impossible, Baskeball was always meant to be a team sport so I would sit with a Cavs team: Brad Dougherty, Larry Nance, Hot Rod Williams, Ehlo and Mark Price.

  • Drew

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

I’ve got to go with Mark Price. My favorite Cav as a kid and a legitimately nice guy. Or anybody but Brad Daughterty because I don’t want to have to hear two and a half hours worth of NASCAR talk.

  • Du

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Steve Kerr. That means the game would be on National TV on TNT. I also would be in a prime-time seat near the floor. I would then convince him to give me a headset for a bit so I could give a fan’s perspective on why Cleveland is the absolute best sports town period…even though we haven’t won crap for nearly 50 years!! I would then implore Jimmy Haslem for the love of all things to keep Tommy Heckert, I would proceed to lambaste Charles Barkley, LeBron James, the Dolans, Carlos Boozer, and then “rip” Peyton Hillis for being such a wuss last season. I would do this in no particular order. I would then welcome LeBron back for the 2014-15 season if he so desires and it helps us finally get that hardware. Truth.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why??
DaSagana Diop. I’d love to know how it is that someone gets rich just for being tall. I’m pretty tall myself.

  • http://twitter.com/tompestak Thomas Pestak

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why? Mark Price. He was my favorite player and even though I was a kid then he has stayed closed to basketball and I think we could have some fun conversations about how the game has changed, different players he played with and against. Plus I’d probably be able to grab a picture with him and that would mean a lot as I never got to meet him for an autograph or anything growing up.

if that happens, ask him how the Leg Kick came about.

  • http://twitter.com/tompestak Thomas Pestak

me too! I had a Lotus123 spreadsheet i filled in

  • SummitOmar

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Ron Harper. As the best basketball player to come from my alma mater and what should have been the lynchpin to a championship in Cleveland I would love to spend a game talking to Ron about what could have been and how would he think a championship here would have been received versus the ones he did win.

  • Eric G

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

LeBron. Just to see how he really thinks

  • cjjonescj

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why ??

My choice would be Danny Ferry. I would love to ask him what really went on with all the LeBron drama. Everything from LeBron quitting on the team during the Celtics series, to rumors about Delonte and Gloria. Also, get Danny’s take on the whole “Decision” debacle. Why did Danny decide he didn’t want any part of the Cavs after that ? Danny would also be a great person to get opinions on our current team since he is a GM in the league. His overall knowledge of Basketball would help me enjoy the game from a whole new perspective. He played for the Cavs, he was GM for Cavs, and now GM for a team competing with the Cavs. He has the most unique perspective of any former Cavs player. I’m sure he could see things I can’t during the game too because he is almost 7′ tall. I’m only 5′ 10″, so it would have to help a lot. I’m also assuming he would pay for everything. So bring on Danny Ferry. Let’s go to a Cavs game buddy.

  • Connor B.

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

I would have to go with Shaq…Always seems to be having a good time & he is an all time NBA great.

  • Andy

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

I’ve gotta go with Big Z. The man spent so much time here and was such a great member of the Cavs!

  • Jaker

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

LeBron James, in the NBA Finals, because it means he’s not playing and the Cavs are.

  • Matt S

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Shaq. I know he’s not a “true Cav”, but the guy is undoubtedly hilarious.

  • SteveinBrooklyn

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why? Mark Price. For starters, he’s my favorite player of all time, but I would also like to ask him about his experiences living in the fun fun town of Hudson, Ohio, as I myself did.

  • Cooley Ford

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why??

Rick Davis. We could smoke a fatty in the parking lot and then tell bad jokes and eat junk food all game.

  • Buckeye Bulldog

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why? Definitely Delonte West. I’m sure he would have lots of interesting stories, plus I could ask him if the rumor of him and LeBron’s mom was true or not.

Damon Jones, so I can tell him in person what a punk/poop chunk he is.

  • Carl

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Easily Paul Silas – to ask what ira newble Did to get him so mad!

  • KillerNut

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?
LeBron. Just imagine how annoying it would be to ask him repeatedly how it felt to lose to the Knicks when Carmello sat. Or why he hated kids. Or why Dwane Wade keeps sending him love notes. Or if he would rather sit next to DeLonte West. Or if he still drives 110 mph. Or if he and Dan Gilbert were still pen pals. Oh my that would be fun

  • David Wright

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

ZZZZ.. so I could hear the fans sitting behind us complain about the tree that’s blocking their view of the court.

  • dave

Which former Cavalier would you most like to sit next to during a game and why?

Johnny “J.J” Johnson, the original #1 pick of the Cavs in 1970. I would want to know how he felt beginning on an expansion team and how the NBA has changed from 40 years ago.
