The Cleveland Indians have decided to non-tender third baseman Jack Hannahan. Hannahan, who was Cleveland’s primary third baseman for the past two seasons, was the only one of the eight Indians eligible for arbitration to be non-tendered. GM Chris Antonetti did say there is interest in bringing him back via free agency. Hannahan, 32, hit .244/.312/.341 last year with 4 homers and 29 RBI in 105 games. This obviously paves the way for Lonnie Chisenhall to play third base everyday for the Tribe in 2013.
Jack sent out this tweet last night.
Thanks to the entire Cleveland Indians organization and to the fans for the last 2 years…Best of luck to my teammates next year…
