Redskins vs. Browns – Open Thread

The Browns have a chance to extend the win streak to four.

This could be the last home game for Josh Cribbs as a member of the Browns.

RG3 sits for former Michigan State QB and rookie Kirk Cousins.

This could be hopeful Browns Pro Bowl Kicker Phil Dawson’s last home game as a member of the Browns as well.

    I’m not defending Weeden’s play today, but I imagine some of the hesitance on the down-field stuff is Shurmur’s doing.

    i’m not a colt guy – but you have to wonder why they took Weeden when McCoy seemingly can do the same things. In fact, maybe McCoy is better, we just never had a chance to see him play with an offense behind him.

    I’d be curious to see what Colt can do. Why the heck not? Weeden ain’t the answer, folks.

    Welp…it appears the Redskins gave away the world to get RG3 and managed to draft two quarterbacks that are better than our starter. Sheesh…

    Cousins is earning himself a payday like that one guy that used to play for Green Bay who’s name I can’t remember, because he didn’t beat out Russell Wilson but it doesn’t matter because he’s still collecting a nice paycheck sitting on the bench just like last year.

    Trent Richardson has 2 carries so far in the second half. TWO!!! and one was one of those dumb plays that we all saw coming.

    We aren’t down by 20, we are down by 10. This guy is a top-3 pick, whom you traded a ton to move up and get. IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO USE HIM NOW, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO USE HIM????????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    Alternatively, Cousins could be more Matt Schaub (backed up Vick) than Matt Flynn (backed up Rodgers).

    We’re the Browns, we use the third overall pick in the draft on a running back and then throw it over 50 times a game. Cleveland logic.

    If I’m the Redskins, I am thrilled, because I have a young guy that can get it done when RG3 inevitably spends time on the bench with injuries. They can’t be paying Cousins much right now. What a great pickup he could turn out to be.

    This is officially a defensive thrashing. I thought they might lose, but I didn’t think they’d give up 38 to a Kirk Cousins led offense.

    But let’s be clear: while Weeden was awful today this is Cousins’s first start and he’s been wondrous. Executing like a old veteran. If anyone knew he was this good they would have picked him earlier. Weeden has looked a lot more like the 22nd pick in his rookie year than Cousins looks like a 4th rounder.

    Cousins hasn’t looked like a 4th rounder at all this year. And, for me, a first round QB – especially one who is “mature” and “savvy” – should look a lot better than Weeden has.

    common for a rookie first round qb to yo-yo in performance quality week to week, including some stinkers. Uncommon for a 4th round qb in his first rookie start to play like this even once his rookie year, if ever. Cousins’s great performance is way more unexpected than Weeden’s stinker.
