Urban Meyer wanted a fast team. It is safe to say that Ohio State has gotten faster, especially at the WR position. Meyer and the Buckeyes landed WR James Clark, WR Corey Smith and WR/RB Dontre Wilson. Clark was clocked at 4.39 in the 40 yard dash.
Wilson was Oregon bound before Chip Kelly left for the NFL. Urban Meyer took advantage of the opportunity to flip the speedy RB/WR.
Corey Smith chose OSU over Clemson and Florida.
Big names on defense include S Vonn Bell, who was deciding between OSU, Tennessee and Alabama. Bell is a Georgia native and a serious playmaker in the secondary. Huge get for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State also grabbed Texas LB Mike Mitchell.
What you really need to know about this class is that Urban Meyer is getting the players he wants. Ohio State is now a player for national recruits. Several top guys coming from Florida and Texas. These commits haven’t traditionally picked the Buckeyes before, or at least not this many in one class.
The last big name the Buckeyes are waiting for is RB Ezekiel Elliot, who is scheduled to make his announcement at 5pm. Elliot may flip his commitment with the talented class Ohio State has already brought in.
