The Diff: Market saturation and Indians attendance
February 27, 2013San Francisco to send QB Alex Smith to Kansas City per reports
February 27, 2013The Cleveland Cavaliers have listed PG Kyrie Irving as out for tonight’s game against the Toronto Raptors-
“Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving (sore/hyperextended right knee) is listed as OUT for tonight’s game at The Q against Toronto. His status remains day-to-day and will be updated as appropriate.
Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson has rejoined the team and will be ACTIVE for tonight’s game.”
Irving missed last night’s game in Chicago with the sore knee, a game in which the Cavaliers snapped an 11 game losing streak to the Bulls. Cleveland is in the middle of a 5 game in 7 night stretch. Don’t be surprised to see the Cavs be cautious with Irving during this stretch.
Shaun Livingston started in place of Irving last night, and will likely do so again this evening at the Q.

If you have tickets *sad trombone*
Ahhh GREG ODEN PART 2!!! NOO!
That’s where I’m at. *womp womp*
After last nights win, we will need to give Mr Waiters a sore knee as well.
Irving better be in Friday night v. Clippers. I paid good money for those seats.
Cleveland teams have gotten so bad, we can’t even tank when we want to!
what happened to the Cavs-Bulls game story, Rick?
I hope so too. My girlfriend got us tickets for my b day and were driving from Chicago to Cleveland Friday to see Cavs take on the Clips. Hope Kyrie is healthy and ready to roll
There are so many things to like about Shaun Livingston. Assuming his knee is holding up, not sure why they would not try to sign him as a 20 MPG back-up/spot starter. This guy clearly knows how to play, is seemingly still improving physically post-injury, and is a freakin 6’7″ point guard. Maybe he’ll wait for the off-season and try to sign for starter money but maybe he’s open for some security now given his history, like 2 years with a third year team option.
Make it hap’n, Cap’n Grant.
I think it was VP who compared him to Andre Miller. I didn’t see it then (and in large parts still don’t because Miller has a post-up game and his moves are so smooth), but I see that what he was probably referring to was Livingston’s vision and ability to put a pass on the perfect spot.
totally see that comparison, in the lanky/strong body type and fundamental game. Great temperament and we in Cleve don’t have the mental baggage watching him like they might in LA or Chicago. Byron says he calms things down out there – well, he calm me down, knowing there won’t be 3 straight turnovers and some decent shots will be taken. He stops a lot of nonsense the team sometimes falls into – lazy bad passes, forced shots, flat feet on 50/50 balls, opposing team’s undefended drives down the lane.
“he calm me down”
that should be his new name like “he hate me” from the XFL.
dropped consonant was a typo but I like it.
Or Commiedown Living Stone. Really dig the invented names cultures. More of that, please.
yes, I need to be more consistent in keeping the ones we have going. I promise to be more attentive.
My current favorites per team:
Indians: Tabasco
Browns: The Sink
Cavs: He Calm Me Down (really want to use creative license to change this to Simma’ Down Now, but am relenting for now)
I am impressed with your ability to turn even a win to a negative tone. I believe that the sports talk circuit could use you.
Relax. It was a joke.
