Interior, Transition D Causes Cavaliers To Pack It In Early Against Detroit
February 2, 2013WFNY Podcast – 2013-02-02 – WFNY Curates: Deftones
February 2, 2013(UPDATE: We’ve selected our winner. Thanks for participating everyone!)
You know we’re all about contests and rewarding our loyal readers and commenters here at WFNY, and today we’re doing it on an up-tempo pace.
Mark Price, Terrell Brandon, or Kyrie Irving? Brad Daugherty, Shaquille O’Neal, or Zydrunas Ilgauskas? Larry Nance, Shawn Kemp, or Campy Russell? Would you play two centers? Maybe two point guards? Have LeBron play the four?
If you had to field a starting five with all of the Cavaliers in franchise history at your disposal, who would you choose?
We’re running a contest this morning for two tickets to tonight’s Cavaliers-Thunder game (gametime is 7:00 pm).
The question is real simple. Name your All-Time Cavalier starting five.
Comments MUST be made in the comments section of this post by 2:00 pm EST. The winner will be randomly selected and notified via e-mail, so please make sure the e-mail in your comment is a valid one. Tickets will be transferred via FlashSeats, so please enter only if you can make the necessary accommodations and have a FlashSeats account!
Best of luck to everyone!

I’m out of town, so I don’t want to be entered into the contest, but want to weigh in anyway.
Austin Carr at the point, Lebron James, Shawn Kemp and Ricky Davis as forwards and Larry Nance at center. Austin Carr doesn’t really do anything except break the record for saying “Throws the hammer down” during one game while the other four put on a dunk clinic.
sorry id like to change price to kyrie
Kyrie, Price, lebron, daugherty, and kemp
Irving, Price, LeBron, Verejao, Kemp
PG: Kyrie Irving: This is the tough one, but I don’t remember Price that well, Brandon was great but wasn’t here that long, and Kyrie is just so fun to watch.
SG: Ron Harper With Kyrie and LBJ, don’t really need a traditional scoring 2. Harper played on those great Bulls teams, he can play off Kyrie and Bron and his smarts fit in well.
SF: Lebron James: Best player in team history, Current best player in the league. An all-time great. Don’t care what he did in 2010, he needs to be on here.
PF: Anderson Varejao: Again, the construction of this team doesn’t need a ton of scoring, so Boozer is out. But it does need some defense because Kyrie is a bit suspect. Andy doesn’t need any plays run for him, he’ll get his double double just by hustling, and he picks up the PnR slack.
C: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Sorry, Brad.

Look, a lot could be said about each starting line up. I can still remember the dark days (late 90’s – early 2000’s) where I would be one of maybe 8k fans at the games. The one lasting glorious memory is of the night the Cavs actually listed their all time lineup (circa 2000ish). Kemp was in the lineup, but more importantly Mark Price who was in attendance. For that one night, the fans were back, the feeling we had something. That night we crushed the Knicks.
Kyrie is our new Mark Price. It’s coming!
