The Diff: Cavs, Indians, NFL Draft and March Madness
March 13, 2013MLB News: Indians’ Herrmann undergoes Tommy John surgery
March 13, 2013Per his twitter account, former Steelers CB Keenan Lewis will be taking a visit to the New Orleans Saints-
“Taking a drive down Airline Dr. To visit with the New Orleans Saints!!!”
Lewis is the cornerback that many Browns fans were hoping to see Cleveland land in free agency. There were rumors and projections linking him to the Browns as well. Obviously nothing has been signed as of yet, but hearing him take a visit to New Orleans isn’t exactly good news for those that would like to see him in orange and brown.
Lewis was the Steelers’ best cover corner last season, and led the NFL with 16 passes defensed. Signing him would weaken the Steelers while improving the Browns.
There are several good CB free agents available however, and seeing Lewis leave the AFC North for New Orleans wouldn’t be terrible.
In the meantime, the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweets that former San Diego CB Antoine Cason will be visiting Ray Horton’s old team the Arizona Cardinals.

We don’t need to spend big on a CB. Let the dust settle and get the best upgrade available for a bargain. If we can attack the QB as effectively as we plan, I see CB#2 as a need but not a need bigger than OG and TE. We still need a Safety, too.
Asomugha fits our likely scheme (man-to-man w/ using sideline as help) for CB2 – only if humbled by Philly experience for expected $$
Sean Smith (if he lasts to the cheaper deals?) for CB2
Antoine Winfield for CB3
and I cannot help but love the idea of Woodson at FS, but he’s likely going to be too much $$
Delmas – if healthy (big if)
Clemons – under-rated guy who is good
It may not be good news for those that would like to see him in orange and brown, but it sure is good news for those that don’t want to see him in black and pee.
It is interesting to me that of the 4 teams in the AFC North, 2 are losing some of their best players while the other 2 aren’t. Of the latter 2, only 1 is gaining talent (thus far). I like this trend.
the Bengals are the most interesting so far. they have the most cap room and the most potential free agents (many RFA), so they are sort of stuck in a holding pattern while the first wave goes out (and they save their money for their own guys).
Mendenhall to Cardinals, Ellerbe to Dolphins, etc. Each signing is welcome because it means they won’t get desperate and take a cheap deal to return.
Indeed. Glad to see the talent drain for our rivals. The Dolphins are definitely doing their part.
Disagree CB is a huge needed when compared to TE and especially OG.
What about Pollard? Looks like he is leaving B-More, too.
Best news of the day is that Derek Anderson re-signed with the Panthers, and not the Browns.
he’s divisive in the locker room, more of a big-hitting SS (and we have Ward), and he’s likely to command a hefty payday despite all of his issues.
i’d pass.
