Josh Cribbs: LeBron James should return to Cleveland

I think LeBron James should go back to Cleveland and all will be forgiven in the universe.

– Former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl return man/wide receiver Josh Cribbs in a list-based column for Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback. Cribbs also addresses chivalry, turning your cell phone off on airplanes and boner pills, in no particular order.

    Agreed.

  • WayneEmbrysKids

    Disagree.

  • JHop

In the universe, eh? Hopefully that’ll mean all will be forgiven for Krypton exploding in the nuclear reaction.

    I’m coming home
    I’m coming home
Tell the World I’m coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they’ve forgiven my mistakes
I’m coming home, I’m coming home

  • JHop

This old man, he played one
He played knick knack on my thumb
    With a knick knack paddywhack
    Give the dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

  • JHop

Not one, not two, not three…

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Two accomplished…perhaps the third can be here, it should be here, it needs to be here, it has to be here. So sayeth I, so shall it be.

That’s the bottom line ‘cuz $hamrock said so!

  • Jaker

    I Wanna Rock! ROCK!!!
    I Wanna Rock! ROCK!!!
    I Want To Rock! ROCK!!!
    Ohhhhhh, I Wanna Rock! ROCK!!!

(Honestly I don’t get this game)

What a relief to hear Joshie’s important opinions. And to think we were deprived of that for almost three months.

Now, if someone beside a magistrate can somehow pry some gems out of the suddenly cemented lips of Chris Perez our world would be enlightened again.

I will never cheer for the Cavs if he came back. He sh*t all over the fans, the team and more importantly the city of cleveland. then continued to say all the ‘akron is not cleveland’ BS and all those years he ‘spoiled us with his play’.

guess what – “cleveland still hates you”

  • The_Real_Shamrock

You need to work on your broadcasting skills ‘cuz you suck!

  • Mr. Doctor

I’d rather the Cavs pursue Melo or Paul George next year.

Two trailer park girls go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.
Two trailer park girls go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.

    Guess who’s back, back again
    Shady’s back, tell a friend
    Guess who’s back, guess who’s back…

Now this looks like a job for me
    So everybody just follow me
Cuz we need a little controversy,
Cuz it feels so empty without me …

  • Justin Bennett

hey matty did you cheer for jim thome when he came back? propose a statue for the clown? and still people lick that dudes boots.

somehow, someway i bet you’d cheer for lebron if he came back.

  • Justin Bennett

melo the guy who has barely makes it out of the first round?

No way paul george is not leaving indy anytime soon.

  • saggy

it may sound silly but i dislike Jim Thome more than LeBron. Thome sucks, and the statue thing makes me nauseous.

At least LeBron is a treasure to watch. Think about this: if there’s a guy in the NBA you want your kid to emulate, you can do a lot worse than showing vids of James. Guy plays hard (except against Boston) and plays the right way.

of course, if he spurns the Cavs next year – which is most likely – i will probably dislike him again.

But if you are a Cavs fan and you want to win, you want this guy on your team. He is arguably the greatest basketball player ever. In his prime.

  • mgbode

both were the most valuable player for the best recent stretch for their team. of course, LeBron was also the most valuable player in the entire league.

i’m not bitter on either, but I would prefer LeBron to not come back. i’d just rather build something new.

  • mgbode

    they will all be Lakers

  • bridgecrosser

Perhaps this is one for the WFNY team – there would have to be an honest discussion about Lebron’s return and The Decision. A few statements that showed some actual remorse for clowning the region and the fans. I don’t need PR tour. “Just say, hey, I wish I could change some things about how I left. I can now see how that looked. I hope we can move forward.” Nobody needs to prostrate themselves but it could turn the page.

    Just a small town girl
    Livin’ in a lonely world
    She took a midnight train
    Goin’ anywhere
    Just a city boy
    Born and raised south Akron
    He took the midnight train
    Goin’ to Miamiiiiiii

  • saggy

Are you saying you’d rather start with something “new” instead of with the best player ever? I think Mike Brown’s presence eliminates the “new” thing, BTW.

Bode — just when i thought you and I were getting along…

  • The_Real_Shamrock

    Bill Simmons line 2.

  • saggy

Melo plays absolutely ZERO defense. No way Mike Brown would even consider that. Melo and Kyrie on the same team? that’s the 1988 Denver Nuggets all over again.

  • saggy

i’ve been saying the same thing. I agree with you. LeBron was a kid. The decision was terrible. i mean TERRIBLE.

But, you know what? I moved to NY when i was 28 because I felt Cleveland didn’t offer me what i was looking for. Whether he comes back or not, he should approach it from that perspective: as a man of the world just looking to continue to fulfill his dreams.

Dude is a law-abiding, first-rate, citizen. I’ve often wanted to punch him in the face but, for me, i would feel very hypocritical, since i feel i went through something similar. It’s life. sometimes we, as fans, get a little too crazy………..But screw him for that whole Decision nonsense!!

  • mgbode

look, I understand. he’s the best player in the world and our best chance for a championship. i completely understand that viewpoint.

i still have some idealism left in me though and it’s pushing through on this one :)

  • Matt

Lebron James is not the best player ever.

  • thenoclist

WOA controversial opinion! no bites, though sorry bro

  • matt underwood

    Souvenir City!!

  • matt underwood

Nope – i can honestly say I did not cheer for Thome. Mr. “they’ll rip the jersey off of my back”… F him too.

FWIW, I cheered for Baerga and Lofton when they came back

  • BomberDawg

    Yes he is.
