The Cleveland Browns have begun taking the steps needed to whittle their roster down to 75 players by the Tuesday afternoon deadline.
The team has announced that they have waived defensive back Vernon Kearney, defensive lineman Dave Kruger, wide recevier Cordell Roberson and linebacker Tommy Smith. Kruger is the most noteworthy of the preliminary cuts as he is the brother of Browns’ offseason free agent addition, outside linebacker Paul Kruger.
The deadline for the 53-man roster is Saturday, August 31 at 6 p.m.
