Indians 4, Orioles 3: On the Verge of Losing It
September 4, 2013WFNY Stats & Info: Ubaldo Jimenez’s continued improvement
September 4, 2013The Cleveland Browns official depth chart lists Greg Little and Davone Bess as the team’s starting wide receivers for their impending Opening Day game against the Miami Dolphins.
With Josh Gordon serving a two-game suspension (substance abuse violation), the naming of Little and Bess comes as little surprise. Bess, an off-season acquisition, is largely expected to play in the slot when Gordon returns, but the veteran chain-mover will see extended time with Travis Benjamin and Josh Cooper providing relief. Last season with the Dolphins, the 27-year-old Bess caught 61 passes for 778 yards and one touchdown.
Little, 24, is coming off of a relatively disappointing season that saw him catch just 53 balls for 647 yards and four touchdowns. He looked revitalized at times during the preseason and will have to have a step up in his third season in the NFL if the Browns are to provide much in the way of a passing game.
The Browns are also expected to feature tight end Jordan Cameron in the vertical passing game. Through the team’s first three preseason games, he has six catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns.

I don’t think the disappointing stat of last season for Little is the catches, yards, or TDs, but rather the drops. Interested to see if he is more mature, and limits the drops on Sunday.
The real question is: with Bess starting, who’s babysitting Josh Gordon during his suspension while the team is focused on games. Because this guy’s inability to use his down time in a manner helpful to his team is already the stuff of legend.
Can’t help but think this will end badly.
Josh is baking some home made brownies for the opener! Him and Brody are gonna hang and just chill.
If little is all we have, we are in trouble.
