CBS, ESPN experts overwhelmingly pick Browns to win week 1
September 7, 2013MLB News: Corey Kluber activated from DL for Saturday start
September 7, 2013In perhaps a surprising Saturday roster move, the Browns announced that wide receiver Tori Gurley has been added to the active roster, with running back Dennis Johnson being waived to make room.
Gurley, 24, was with Cleveland in training camp this offseason. The former South Carolina receiver is a practice squad veteran, this being his sixth different team since leaving school following his redshirt sophomore season in 2010. He was officially added to the practice squad roster on Monday. He is 6-foot-4 and 230-lbs, a big receiver that could perhaps see playing time in the absence of suspended Josh Gordon.
The Browns only had acquired Johnson via waivers last weekend along with fellow young running back Bobby Rainey. Johnson, a short 5-foot-6, played behind Knile Davis at Arkansas and was previously cut by the Houston Texans. These two were the only running back depth behind Trent Richardson, with Chris Ogbonnaya lining up at fullback.
It’s an intriguing pre-gameday offensive roster switch for the Browns. Many were concerned previously about the running back depth, a topic we discussed in roundtable form, but the team obviously was a bit more worried about the interim wide receiver depth to start the season. We’ll see if Gurley can make it onto the field.

Maybe this means that MarQueis Gray is viewed more as a RB than a TE/WR by the Browns?
