Pic: Cleveland Browns unveil Brownie the Elf

The Browns have been teasing it and most Browns fans seemed happy at the thought. Well, the Browns finally unveiled Brownie the Elf and much to the relief of all involved, Brownie doesn’t appear like he will terrify children!

Welcome back Brownie!

We won! So I love him.

  • Eric G

    Still a little bit creepy

  • Wow

    I always loved this mascot.

  • Lunch

Hi, Link. Where’s Princess Zelda? And when did you become a Cleveland Browns fan? Hehe!! ;)

  • Mark

    Love Brownie.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

It may not scare children but I agree with you!

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Next best thing to a leprechaun! ;-)

  • Natedawg86

Can I market browns elf on the shelf but u put him out during the season and your Christmas is the Super Bowl

  • WFNY_DP

    NOOOOOOOOOO

  • Zeusdaddy

It’s bad enough other teams call us “Brownies”. I have always hated it!

  • Big Z

Hmmm… not a fan. Not sure we really need a mascot on the field.

  • Jeremy Humbert

Say what you want, but people actually think that our mascot is a pile of poop. Maybe the brilliant marketing team is taking a step towards a total image revamp including a meaningful mascot. The Dawgs are cool, but what the hell does that have to do with the Cleveland Browns? I know the origin of it, but outsiders looking in cannot readily identify with it. The Brownie elf in its scottish form, iis mischievous and wicked (and creepy), and a bit of a pain in the ass. I think that is the persona we are trying to portray.
Just my two cents, though no one asked for it.
    Go Brown(ie)s!

  • Harv 21

really … really? More appropriate for a hamburger and milkshake franchise.

This is what happens when strangers in town are ordered to conjure up something that recalls the legendary days of yore. Um, guys, elf dude has always been an ignored embarrassment. As Hammy would say “A swiiiing and a miss.”

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Did you see the huge flag/banner that is unrolled/pulled over the Dawg Pound with the dog logo and words “Dawg Pound” on it? I guess they do it in the dog pound or something. I don’t know about this gimmick.

  • WFNY_DP

They’ve done that for both home games (I sit in the “Dawg Pound”). Yesterday, as the banner passed over my head, I punched it for 30 straight seconds.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Like being back in the womb huh? I must admit I don’t get the idea how often do they unveil it?

  • Jay

    We call ourselves the Brownies.

“Here we go Brownies, Here we go!”

    Does that not bother you?

  • Zeusdaddy

Yes , I hate that too. I have been a Browns fan for almost 60 years, I never cheered for Brownies ( aka “little girl scouts”) at a game. But that’s just me.

  • Jay

I got ya. Friends from out of town wonder why we cheer that instead of “Here we go Cleveland”, to which I had no other response except for “Because we’ve always said Brownies”.

  • paulbip

Just trying to make money selling this crap.

  • TheMishMosh

“Elf dude has always been an ignored embarrassment.”

You sound like Art Modell. Ponder that for a second and rethink your stance on Brownie.
