October 30, 2013WFNY Tickets: Five top Cavaliers games
October 30, 2013Dane Brugler is a Senior analyst at CBS Sports and NFLDraftScout.com. He’s a pretty good twitter follow too. Yesterday he published his NFL all-rookie team at the halfway mark of the season. Cleveland OLB Barkevious Mingo made the cut.
OLB Barkevious Mingo, Browns
Mingo was the first NFL rookie to record a sack in each of his first three NFL games since 2004, but has cooled off since then. Nonetheless, he still holds on as the top rookie outside linebacker halfway through the 2013 season, currently second in the league among rookies with four sacks.
Only New England’s DL Chris Jones (4.5) has more sacks that Mingo (4.0). After a hot start, Ezekiel Ansah still has three. Oakland’s Sio Moore is the only other rookie with at leats 3.0 sacks.
Mingo’s odds to win defensive rookie of the year are at 15:1 according to Vegas Insider.com.
