November 13, 2013New Cavs center Andrew Bynum will miss the next two games this week after being excused from the team to deal with a “family medical matter.”
The news was released by the team Tuesday evening. Bynum, who started Monday’s showdown against the Bulls and played a season-high 21 minutes, will miss Wednesday’s contest in Minnesota and Friday’s home game against Charlotte.
No further information has been released publicly about Bynum’s family matter. He is scheduled to rejoin the team on Saturday in Washington before the Cavaliers takes on the Wizards.
The 26-year-old former NBA All-Star is averaging 6.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in six contests. He has looked rusty at times, but had by far his best performance of the season in Monday’s defeat.
