Pic: Was Greg Little being choked by a Ravens player?

The Browns won yesterday beating the Ravens 24-18, so Greg Little’s two personal fouls are much easier to take. Now some visual evidence makes at least one of the penalties a little bit more understandable. It sure appears like Greg Little is being choked by some Ravens player’s hands in the pile. This was the incident where Little was penalized for grabbing a helmet.

So while Joe Haden was right that this isn’t the same old Ravens, it appears he was also wrong. It is the same old Ravens in terms of attitude, toughness and willingness to provoke opposing teams and be largely intimidating. At least the Browns and Greg Little didn’t shrivel.

    The answer is yes.

  • woofersus

I figured a fine was coming, but it probably just got bigger.

  • WFNY_DP

I’m sure the league will be right with us to levy a fine for that Ravens player. No? Oh, what was I thinking?

  • chompchomp

In retrospect, and only after a victory, am I willing to say that I think it’s kind of okay that Little chucked a Ravens helmet to the sidelines. I was irked at the time, but not as much as I still am about his taunting penalty.

  • Haas

I saw that during the game and couldn’t argue against him being angry. I was shocked it wasn’t off-setting penalties. Same with his other penalty. He was clearly shoved late, out of bounds, after everything had stopped.

  • chompchomp

I disagree with you on the second one. That stuff is going to happen and flags won’t always fly. Flags will, and should, always fly if you do the junk he did afterward.

  • woofersus

Flags do sometimes get thrown for a late shove after the play. It mostly depends on how delayed it is, and I thought that one was delayed enough. I wish they were more consistent with enforcement of that sort of thing.

  • chompchomp

I guess I should say that sometimes I feel like choking Greg Little, too. Even when he’s winning games for us.

  • BROSEPH

When it happened and they showed the replay, I thought he was being punch in the facemask a few times.

  • turnercr

That taunting penalty was harsh. If the NBA enforced “taunting” like the NFL Dikembe Mutombo never would’ve completed a game for his “taunting” finger wag. For christ’s sake let these guys show a little emotion. This was NOT the Seattle taunting. That was disgraceful. This was one quick little come and get it motion

  • WFNY_DP

Didn’t they make the rule that Motombo couldn’t wag the finger *at* the player, and instead had to turn away and wag it off to the crowd or something?

  • turnercr

Fair point. I had actually forgot about that. But I think the “taunting” calls can get a little ridiculous. I mean these guys are out there playing their tails off and can barely even show emotion. I mean these are grown men. If the Ravens player can’t handle one little hand motion maybe he doesn’t have the mental fortitude to compete athletically for a living. Let these guys show a little emotion (w/o going overboard, which I don’t think Little did) and let them show that they are human. That’s part of what makes professional sports so appealing is it not?

  • Champ

That Ravens player should be in jail now. How is that part of football? If you can’t win is ok to kill your competition. What ever happened to “sports-man-ship?”

  • Yes you do

    Overreact much?

  • Wow

Hats off to Little for not taking that nonsense. Sure it cost the Browns 15 yards but it fired up the team too.

  • turnercr

I hear what you’re saying. But jail? Relax champ

  • WFNY_DP

    I don’t disagree.

  • Natedawg86

I do that to my 4 yr old when we are playing basketball

  • Natedawg86

I don’t know that they would have called anything had he not thrown the helmet.
