Counting Down the Worst Cleveland Browns Christmas Gifts – #10
December 3, 2013NFL News: Jason Campbell “so far so good” on recovery
December 3, 2013The Cleveland Browns have promoted defensive back Julian Posey to the active roster from the practice squad and placed cornerback Chris Owens on injured reserve after he fell victim to a knee injury in Sunday’s debacle against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Posey, a 5-10, 190-pound defensive back, is a first-year NFL player out of Ohio University who made his Cleveland debut Oct. 20 at Green Bay. He has spent most of the regular season the Browns’ practice squad after spending training camp with the Dolphins. In 2012, Posey appeared in two games with Miami and spent 11 weeks on the Dolphins’ practice squad. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent, Posey spent 15 weeks on the New York Jets’ practice squad in 2011.
Posey is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he graduated from La Salle High School. His younger brother, DeVier out of Ohio State, is a wide receiver for the Houston Texans.
Owens appeared in 12 games with three starts and totaled 54 tackles, 2.5 sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He added seven special-teams tackles.

It’s shaping up to be quite the blowout on Sunday…
true, but not because of this news. how much worse is there than Owens?
Looks like Owens won’t be back next year. More importantly, who’s the QB that Belichick will have his patchwork defense try to beat up on Sunday?
Can anyone on this team stay healthy?
I doubt anyone on the team is healthy but JoeT shows up to work everyday.
I’ll take the beating for a plane ride and medical expenses afterwards.
i dunno, thought recently that Owens showed flashes of mediocrity. But let’s view this as an edge: it’s difficult for even Belichik to get film on a practice squad player. Verrry difficult.
Brady will wet his pants when he sees how McFadeden covers.
