Though the Cavaliers would fall victim to the last-second, friendly rim heroics of Jeff Teague and the Atlanta Hawks, the entire 58 minutes of basketball was full an incredibly entertaining duel of young, electric point guards with him and Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving leading the way. Earlier this month, it was Irving and Portland’s Damian Lillard putting on a show. On Thursday night was was Irving and Teague.
Irving was just a point-producing machine, dropping 40 on 33 shots with 12 of those coming in the second overtime when he went 5-of-6 from the floor. Teague was with him step-for-step, scoring 34 points on the night, with seven of those in the second overtime including the two final points that would allow his team to leave with the win.
Bonus point for this humble and humorous tweet from Teague following the game:
So my ankles are ok just to let you guys know #crossedme
