The Cleveland Browns are playing a high stakes version of ‘This or That’
January 6, 2014American Hustle – Great performances, but ends with a fizzle
January 6, 2014Many Browns fans found at least a tiny bit of joy in their hearts last night when Phil Dawson hit a game-winning field goal to help the 49ers beat Green Bay in Lambeau field yesterday. Well, thanks to the modern world of social media, we can verify that Dawson still appreciates the fans in his old football home, not that it’s much of a surprise or anything.
Hey CLE, just want to thank y'all for your continued love. Much respect & appreciation for y'all.

Dawson helped propel Kaepernick and the boys forward 23-20 in a hostile, frozen road game. Insert comment about ice running through Dawson’s veins as a Packer defender flew dangerously close to blocking the kick that Dawson also snuck in on the right hand side of the goal posts.
The friends of WFNY on Facebook were digging it in a big big way last night, as well.

Go Phil go!
I hope he kicks the game-winner in all of the the following 3 games. He’s the single reason I have a rooting interest in this NFL post-season. Go Niners.
always a class act.
SF is definitely the team of Browns rooting interest.
Kept Cinci from a Superbowl ring (2x)
Kept Elway from a Superbowl ring in the 90s.
they also kept Marino from winning one, which led to a hilarious exchange between him and Esiason a few years ago.
and they beat SD (whatever)
Now, they have Dawson, Colt, Ventrone, Seely, Mangini, Colt and Eric Wright. Also, Buckeye’s in Boone and Whitner.
This is a nice story to post. I appreciate it, and WFNY in general, and I feel the need to clarify that before harping on another typo…
“let’s” = “let us” — you want “lets” in the headline.
Seriously, these third-grade level mistakes in the headlines look bad and could be avoided easily.
Your application to join the Quality Control Team has been excepted!
And you didn’t even mention the ownership good or bad it has a very Cleveland connection.
Ah go do some briefs Gandalf!!!! ;=)
You said Colt twice. Is that so he gets the extra look everyone’s always wanted?
It’s so that I don’t get an angry email from his dad or brother.
I appreciate the way you commented. Of course I know the difference, but I was moving quickly and messed it up anyway. Scott fixed it and I’m annoyed that I didn’t catch it in my pre-submission glance… Ugh. I wish I had someone else to blame. 🙂
Denny!!!!!
Can’t I do both? (I am actually writing a brief right now!)
I would say there’s a Northeast Ohio connection, or more specifically a Youngstown connection. A Cleveland connection would be stretching it about an hour and a half.
well played sir
I agree. We can eliminate SD because Rivers is so annoying. Denver and New England for obvious reasons. Indy, well because of Richardson. So it has to be an NFC team, especially SF.
