Things that annoy me about the Cavaliers right now
February 2, 2014While We’re Waiting… Kipnis drawing more walks
February 3, 2014Had the Cleveland Browns front office waited until the completion of Super Bowl XLVIII and offered him the head coaching job, Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn says he would have likely accepted.
The 48-year-old Quinn was the star of Seattle’s post-game address after his defense smothered what was the highest scoring offense in the history of the NFL, allowing the Seahawks to amass a lopsided 43-8 win and the right to hoist the Vince Lombari Trophy at midfield. When he stepped off of the stage, Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot asked him about the Browns’ job, to which Quinn replied:
“I certainly would’ve been interested,” said Quinn. I mean, it’s a big-time place. It’s the Cleveland Browns.”
Upon the firing of Rob Chudzinski in late December, Quinn was one of the first names linked to the team and was given the first interview. NFL rules prohibited Quinn from interviewing again until the team had a week off, but the defensive coordinator decided to wait until the conclusion of the Super Bowl for any additional interviews. The Browns, pressed for time and unsure of their options in terms of a coaching staff had they waited much longer, hired Mike Pettine, the former defensive coordinator from the Buffalo Bills.
Upon introducing Pettine to Cleveland, Browns CEO Joe Banner admitted that deciding not to wait for Quinn was “the toughest decision” he had to make in the coaching search, and that he is confident he’ll be an excellent head coach.

I wouldn’t have minded Martz as OC.
Did you really refer to yourself in the 3rd person?
