Cavalier Film Room: A window into the Anthony Bennett skill set

February 14, 2014Cleveland’s favorite UFC heavyweight, Stipe Miocic, might have just found his next fight for Dana White, and it would be a biggie. Former heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos prefers to fight Miocic next according to a radio interview he did yesterday.
Dos Santos said, “I prefer Miocic. I think Miocic is living a very good moment in his career, so it could be a good fight for the people.”
Later in the day, Dana White was asked about the potential match-up and he indicated that he liked it as well. And Dana White’s preferences always make fights pretty strong possibilities to become reality.
It would be a tough fight for Miocic who is on a two fight winning streak after victories over Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga. In both fights Miocic was an underdog and a fight against Dos Santos would see Miocic as an underdog yet again. Currently, Miocic is ESPN’s 6th best ranked heavyweight while Junior Dos Santos is riding high in 3rd.
The tenth ranked ESPN heavyweight Alistair Overeem has already turned down two proposed fights against Junior Dos Santos. While I can’t speak for Miocic and his management team, I have a tough time envisioning him turning down a chance to fight such a highly-ranked opponent. Miocic has shown guts in the past by taking fights on short notice as he did for UFC 161 when he defeated Roy Nelson.

Good luck Stipe.
Junior hits like a truck.
Stipe was not an underdog against Gonzaga. I know because I bet him to win at -270. That is actually a pretty heavy favorite.
That would be a great fight to watch. Stipe is no joke
