Josh Gordon thinks Browns will draft a QB at No. 4

Gordon catch sm

Josh Gordon might not know a whole lot more about the Cleveland Browns’ draft plans than we do. That has to be stated first and foremost. Still, Gordon’s opinion on the matter is interesting just the same. On Thursday, the Pro Bowl wide receiver told ESPN that he believes the Browns will call a quarterback’s name with the fourth pick of the 2014 NFL draft.

We won’t go so far as to speculate that this is something that Josh Gordon wants as a receiver. I’m guessing the guy who was able to go for over 1,600 yards in only 14 games while catching passes from Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell feels pretty comfortable in his ability to get open enough for just about any quarterback.

    Cleveland Sports Radio Reaction:

“OMG!!! Josh Gordon has no faith in Hoyer! There was a fight in the locker room! They can’t play together. Should we trade Gordon before it gets worse? I think he’s worth a late 5th round pick. Swap him for Kirk Cousins? Gordon also had a parking ticket! Can you trust Gordon?”

  • Garry_Owen

Oh yeah, well I heard that Brian Hoyer said that he’s “pretty sure it’s going to be a receiver.”

Anyone have any idea what Gordon’s views are on having Watkins play across from him? I mean, it would be a killer duo and it might also free up Gordon for additional big plays if defenses have to concentrate on a receiver other than Gordon. On the other hand, it would also steal limelight — and potentially dollars — from Gordon.

I don’t think it will affect Gordons cash if he keeps playing like he has. Example Megatron

  • Ezzie Goldish

Yeah, I don’t see how it hurts him. It just takes safeties away from him and lets him do even more. Unless Watkins is actually better than him, anything he does is just enhancing for Gordon.

Roddy White wasn’t hurt by Julio Jones showing up – he was credited with drawing Ds away that let Jones succeed, and his numbers were just as good. Same with Brandon Marshall in Chicago with Alshon Jeffery. Sure, perhaps those guys have now been surpassed, but both are getting older and Julio/Alshon are true studs. Gordon is still young, they’d just be a sick duo.

Oh, Joshie. Stick to catching footballs.
Leave the speculation to the experts. Us. :D

I think he was misquoted…he really said, “I pray they draft a QB.” I don’t blame him he’s being greedy I mean if he can amass 1600 yards with the QBs he had throwing him the ball last year imagine what he could do with a legitimate one.

Sadly Josh I hope your wrong. I’d draft you a QB just not at #4.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Hmmmmmm, you sure he didn’t say offensive lineman?

  • The_Real_Shamrock

This won’t get much play although based on the past few days I’d love a real topic for sports talk radio. Man baseball season can’t start soon enough!

  • saggy

    and he missed 2 games.

between Gordon and Cameron they amounted for 65% of the total receiving yards for the Browns last season. wow.

  • Sam Gold

    Simultaneously hilarious and depressing.

Marvin Demoff said we’re going to draft a center.

    Comment board en fuego!!

Ben, G.O., RGB –> like votes all around!

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Well good thing about that is there isn’t one worth the #4 overall selection so if the do draft a center it’ll be later in the draft.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

And the Browns had zero threat of a run game not to mention a shaky offensive line. Perhaps Norv Turner wasn’t so bad huh? Shame whoever decided to fire him did so.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmm!

  • Wow

    Any show on 850.

You’ve done some very solid work here…but it isn’t quite lvy league, is it?

  • Harv 21

When Hoyer heard that he was so ticked he threw a barbell at Brady Quinn.

  • The_Real_Shamrock

Don’t call me Ralph! Norris Cole and I are both proud graduates of Cleveland State University thank you very much!

  • JNeids

No “like” from me until a gif gets added to this comment. You’ve spoiled me rotten.

I’ll take this as Gordon telling that 4 letter ‘sports’ network what they wanted to hear. In exchange, they veiled their hatred for Cleveland sports teams while secretly wishing that Gordon could play for a different NFL team.
