Swisher to DL, Santana out with concussion so Kottaras gets another shot
May 27, 2014Indians can’t muster offense again, lose 2-1 in Chicago
May 28, 2014I wouldn’t dare bring this article up if I didn’t know the WFNY community could handle it. But I believe this is a group that can have a good discussion about it.
The title of the article is “Actions matter than words… unless you’re on the internet“. Clay Travis is the author. As usual, I don’t agree with everything the author says, but I think his overarching point needs to be made. The internet mob mentality that Travis describes has made me hold back my opinions several times in the life of WFNY. Why would I fear expressing my own opinion on a site a co-own? Because of the mob mentality. Express an opinion that isn’t the prevailing thought of the day and watch what happens.
Obviously we’re talking about the bigger issues here, not about clean-up hitters, number one overall picks or coaching decisions. On those things we have had plenty of discussion and differences of opinion. I remember when you used to be able to have a difference of opinion on social issues as well and weren’t overwhelmed by the mob.
What do you think? Should actions still be more important than words?

So why did the NFL salary cap jump up this year, and is there another jump in the future? The Texans owner says there will be another jump next year– up to $15 million dollars, which could be good for the Browns. Credit Dawgs By Nature for this find.

Finally, another board game mini-review for you. I played Legendary: a Marvel deck building game last night. (It is made by the Upper Deck company by the way.) I really enjoyed it. (Thanks again Omar!) This game is a cooperative game, but does have an overall winner as well. The group is playing as Marvel heroes against the villains. The hero cards that you build your playing deck from are community cards, so you aren’t locked into one hero for the duration of the game. I liked that aspect a lot.
There are several expansion available (which are essentially more heroes or villains) to add to the game. For my family budget, the base game is bit pricey. The base game is $48 on Amazon. It is $60 on the Upper Deck website. The Dark City expansion which we played with is $35 on Amazon.
If you have the opportunity, I would recommend playing this one before you purchase. However, if you have been a fan of the Avengers or X-Men movies lately, you are going to really like this game I believe.

That is a great explanation and I retract my Greek cuisine example.
