Indians recall T.J. House, option C.C. Lee
May 17, 2014Francona drops Swisher, Santana in batting order
May 18, 2014Obviously it’s really early in the process for the Browns, but indications are that Joel Bitonio is starting out inside at a guard spot. He’s been playing both sides, but obviously once camp breaks with the veterans, there’s no telling what kinds of combinations they might try before figuring out where everyone will end up. In addition, there’s no telling just how all the existing players will fit in Kyle Shanahan’s zone blocking scheme. Whether it ends up being Mitchell Schwartz moving inside or Bitonio pushing the rest of the guards, it’s good to add names to the offensive line depth chart.
The potentially frustrating thing for these other draft picks is that they all have to answer lots of questions about Johnny Manziel. What’s it like having your locker next to him? Did you ever think you’d be blocking for him in the NFL? Joel Bitonio seemed to handle it really well, but I admit it did crack me up a bit when the Cleveland media asked Justin Gilbert if he had to remind Johnny Manziel who was selected first.

No surprise. But hope Mitchell Schwartz doesn’t see this as an endorsement of his progress to date.
yes, Bitonio’s arms are too short for OT, he was always going to be an OG for us. I suspect he will win the RG spot and we hope that is what he does as it is the tougher position (more solo responsibilities) and that would validate his selection.
Bitonio the bruiser next to Schwartz the cupcake I’m sure we’ll see Bitonio helping Schwartz plenty.
says here schwartz is a “mauler.”
Perfect example of why you shouldn’t believe everything you read. Clearly that wasn’t updated after last season because I seem to remember Schwartz being more of the victim then the perpetrator!
Maybe we’ll see some improvement from Schwartz when he’s playing next to someone not named Cousins.
porkchop womack actually played strong when billy yates was next to him.
you want to run right, you need a good right guard. I’m stoked. Ben Tate is, too.
