Josh Gordon reportedly arrested last night in North Carolina

JoshGordonHDR

Josh Gordon faces suspension from the NFL already, and it seems that his appeals process might have hit another bump in the road last night. According to (the) Twitter, Gordon was arrested last night in North Carolina.

Obviously without knowing what the charges were, it’s hard to have much of a reaction. I mean if he was nailed for drug possession or public drunkenness or public urination, the reactions are going to be very different. It could have been just driving way too fast. So, I’ll reserve judgement.

The only thing that I will say is something that I’ve said for years and years. It’s my own personal cliche, but I think it’s apropos.

Not getting arrested is the easiest part of my day. It’s simple for me, and I don’t think I’m bragging when I say that.

    supposedly charged with DWI…not good

  • Paul Marsh

Gah, right down the road from me. I would have given him a ride.

  • simond

maybe he was in a hurry to a drug test

  • mgbode

    Sigh

  • Kenny_Chill

The guy needs help. I’m hoping the year ban sticks and those close to him are able to help him get things together.

  • saggy

if i could be sure that nobody else in the NFL would pick this guy up and reap the rewards i would certainly say that it’s time to be done with the idiot.

If those close to him hadn’t stepped in prior to this, I have little faith in them doing so now. The time for concern was well before this, given everything riding on him cleaning up his act. Sad.

    What a waste!

  • cmm13

BAC of .09…… Obviously another bad link in his chain of events but not like he was shotgunning moonshine and sizzurp either.

  • RGB

    Shitforbrains.

  • Petefranklin

.09? THAT SUCKS! that would have been legal 20 years ago. It’s two beers on an empty stomach. I hate podunk cops that don’t have anything to do. He should be able to win a case in court.

  • Horace

If you’re being sarcastic, then I apologize. However, a .09 is about 6 or 7 beers in one hour (!) for a 230 lb man. Personally, I love those podunk cops who bust drunk drivers so the roads are a little safer.

Looks like the Browns have at least two current (for now) players with alcohol problems.

  • BenRM

    if it’s .09 i can’t fault anyone.

  • mgbode

Guy knows he is on the shortest of leashes. He shouldn’t be driving after any drinks and should be making sure noone is carrying pot (last time). Not my millions though.

6-7 beers in one hour? So how does someone blow a .2? chug 2 bottles of Jack? You need better sources of information.

  • Horace

My source of information is just fine (any available bac calculator). Before calling someone out, try doing a little research so you don’t look like a complete moron.

  • BenRM

Are you serious with this? Even using the calculator you cited you’re wrong.

    6 beers in 1 hour for a 230lb man is .109. 7 is a .124. 5 is a .08.

Also, the presumption he drank them in a single hour is ludicrous.

  • WFNY_DP

Also of note is that if Gordon doesn’t give a sh!t, people close to him stepping up or whathaveyou won’t mean a thing. I say this from personal experience, and I’ll leave it at that.

  • WFNY_DP

If Gordon was driving the speed limit, staying in his lane, obeying all traffic laws and such, he wouldn’t have gotten stopped. So, if your assertion is that he was clearly not drunk and that the cops are simply out to get him, don’t forget that he had to have done something to get their attention first.

  • http://twitter.com/bbo13 B-bo

Probably the most important point in all of this, and one I certainly should have included. Well done.

  • Horace

Fine, then 9-10 beers in 3-4 hours still yields about a 0.09. Being a young, in shape athlete with low body fat, he probably needs more drinks than the average ~230 lb man. Does that make it sound better?

Look, my point wasn’t the specific time frame or the exact # of drinks consumed, it was to refute Pete Franklin’s comment of 2 beers putting a 230 lb man at a .09 and that this isn’t a big deal. Gordon had way more than 2 drinks (by his own admission it was 3, which is almost certainly a lie).

  • The_Real_Shamrock
  • Petefranklin

Yeah because Gordon was obviously SO WASTED at .09. Jesus Christ, he can’t smoke, let him have some fun. He wasn’t drunk just because redneck asshole cops say he is. .09…seriously?

  • Petefranklin

Anything on a lawyers site must be true.
    Yes,sarcasm

  • Petefranklin

I’ll call you out on that one.
Two 5%beers drank quickly on an empty stomach, without any physical activity could make a 230 pound man .09 if the test came at exactly the time the alcohol was absorbed into the bloodstream. I doubt Josh has any fat cells to help with the alcohol absorption out of the bloodstream. Maybe he drank out of a straw. I don’t know, but you don’t either so to call him drunk or having consumed a large quantity of alcohol is pure assumption on your part.

  • Petefranklin

He’ll be acquitted in a court of law, therefore not drunk!

  • Will Snow

I hope some redneck asshole cop pulls you over. You are so much superior to some dumb cop. Yes, sarcasm

  • Boogers McCluskey

The Seahawks will pick him up for cheap (maybe in ’15 ) and win another title.

  • Petefranklin

You said it yourself dumbass, “redneck asshole cop(s)” It’s why I don’t live in the sticks or south and have no intentions of travel to either.
