Has the Cleveland Browns’ offense been the NFL’s best?
September 18, 2014Buzz Bissinger: Any hatred of LeBron is insane
September 18, 2014Well, that didn’t take long. Just a week after recording two touchdowns in his first game as a pro, undrafted rookie running back Isaiah Crowell has inked a deal with the high-performance sports apparel company Under Armour.
Excited to be the newest member of the @UnderArmour fam!! #iwill

Interestingly enough, one of Crowell’s biggest moments came in an Under Armour game in 2011 where the highly-touted five-star high school tailback was the top uncommitted back in the field—he had narrowed his choices to Alabama and Georgia. He eventually helped lead the University of Georgia to the SEC title game game in 2011 on his way to earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors. Forced to leave Georgia (due to weapons charges) for the lesser known Alabama State, the Carver High grad would see his stock plummet, eventually going undrafted and landing on the Browns for $10,000 and a long shot of making the 53-man roster.
Since arriving, Crowell has taken advantage of all opportunities, filling in admirably for the injured Ben Tate. Through two weeks of fill-in carries, the dreadlocked Crowell is averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He’s a natural blocker and possesses incredible physical gifts—he’s shown to have the perfect skill set for a one-cut zone-blocking scheme like the one run in Cleveland.
While it’s safe to say Crowell’s deal isn’t as lucrative as the one fellow rookie Johnny Manziel signed with Nike earlier this year, it’s undeniably funny how things can come full circle.

West also has a UA sponsorship
This I did not know. Good for both of them.
I expect some type of dual promotion with them. Demand it really.
What kind of contract does Crowell have as an UFA? Anything guaranteed? Or is a guy like Crowell literally just hoping he keeps getting a paycheck each week while (hopefully) socking the rest away?
On a related note, how much has Josh Gordon actually earned in his career?
As long as it doesn’t turn into a “Dan vs Dave”-style fiasco, I’m in.
3 years, 1.5 million; $10,000 guaranteed. If he keeps playing as he has, however, he’s due for $500K per year.
So he’s getting like $30K each week right now before taxes/agent fees? Geez that’s got to be nerve-wracking for guys on that bubble: Huge paycheck vs. no paycheck.
