ESPN Ultimate Team Standings not-so kind to Cleveland
September 22, 2014Cavs season is fast approaching, While We’re Waiting
September 23, 2014Kevin Love was the first guest on Men In Blazers: A Night of 1000 Stars over the weekend in the “crap part of Broadway.”
Love was announced as “one of the newest members of “America’s darlings, the Cleveland Cavaliers” as he joined hosts Roger Bennett and Michael Davies to “talk a little footy” and promote the release of EA Sports FIFA 15 which releases in the U.S. on Tuesday.
Rog and Davo, wasted no time chiding the Cavalier star, commenting that they could smell the Axe Body Spray on him as he made his way on stage. Along with Love, the Men in Blazers also had Joakim Noah and Geno Smith on to promote the sport that they dub “America’s sport of the future. As it has been since 1972.”
Here are some highlights from Love’s interview which begins about ten minutes into the show.
- Love as a man of style, which he described to GQ as a “rugged swag feel”.
- How his lumberjack-likeness which originated in the Pacific Northwest and traveled to Minnesota should fit in well in Cleveland.
- Everything since the first time he dunked in 7th grade in his life has been a let down.
- Elite athletes gravitating towards soccer instead of towards “sports on the decline”.
- Because of his size, like most other large American children he was thrown in net while playing youth soccer. It turned out to be a good choice, because any time he played striker he’d “toe the shit out of the ball”.
- Dennis Rodman as a potential goalie and how he’d be the Hope Solo of the USMNT in more ways than one.
- Pressure of fitting into a new locker room’s video game culture.
- Smalls and talls working together in perfect harmony.
- Being an Arsenal fan that looks like he’s about to be converted into a Liverpool or Chelsea fan.
- LeBron going to Wayne Rooney’s barber.
Love handles himself very well while hanging with the ridiculous and preposterously awesome duo of Rog and Davo.

K-Love very personable. Can he play baseball?
“LeBron going to Wayne Rooney’s barber.”
I’m really looking forward to all the time likely spent on the reversal of Lebron’s hairline this season.
