Josh Gordon sells his first car!
September 9, 2014Browns sign tight end, add receiver Marlon Moore to active roster
September 9, 2014Johnny Manziel’s jersey is still very popular despite the fact that he’s not the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback just yet. Dick’s Sporting Goods keeps track of such things and releases stats, likely as a way to get people to think and talk about jerseys. In their report, you can see Manziel’s jerseys decline as a percentage of overall sales.
Despite that trend, Johnny’s jersey is number one in the league for this season. He leads the likes of Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Luke Kuechly and Jay Cutler.
Most impressive though? Johnny’s jersey is outselling Andrew Luck, Peyton manning and RGIII combined. Look at Dick’s fancy infographic.
Lastly, Manziel obviously also leads the rookie rankings with the Browns’ other pick that they traded to Buffalo – Sammy Watkins – coming in second. Unsurprisingly, Ohio State’s Ryan Shazier’s pukey Pittsburgh threads come in third. Steelers fans needed a new jersey to wear to church on Sundays, I guess.
