Week 3 Winners and Losers
September 22, 2014Craig talks Browns loss with Andy Baskin and Andre Knott
September 22, 2014Buried at the bottom of Terry Pluto’s Sunday “Talkin'” column was a note about the Cleveland Cavaliers adding point guard AJ Price to their Training Camp roster.
Price played in only 28 games alongside Kevin Love with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, and saw very little action when his name was finally called. The 6-foot-2 Price has played in 235 NBA games, averaging 5.9 points and shooting .381 from the field for his career, but filled in pretty well when the Washington Wizards needed him to step up following an injury suffered by John Wall. Playing in 57 games in 2012-13, Price averaged over 22 minutes per game and averaged just under eight points and four assists per night.
“He is a great guy to have in the locker room,” Rick Adelman said of Price last season. “And if something ever happened — I hope it doesn’t happen — to our point guards, I wouldn’t hesitate to play A.J. You know he can do the job.”
He’s terribly inefficient from the floor and will never make anyone forget about Kyrie Irving, but the 27-year-old will provide some depth during Training Camp and preseason contests when the Cavaliers’ Big Three will likely get plenty of time for rest and relaxation heading into a season where all eyes will be focused on their output and how it translates to wins and losses.
Price will join Lou Amundson and a host of others looking to make the final 15-man roster on a team that has Championship aspirations heading into the 2014-15 season.

Eh why not if he makes the team he can help Lou Amundson carry the luggage.
Pass. For literally anyone else, even Eric Snow. Price is a career 38.1% shooter who can’t hit threes and doesn’t do anything particularly well. I’m shocked that he keeps making rosters.
There is more than one way to play the game of basketball. Ever heard of reading plays and not getting enough minutes to shine?
Wow, give the man a chance. You don’t know what God has in stored for AJ. You knocking him down before he even have the chance to shine and SHINE in what he will do. God has a hand in this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t want the Cavs to give him a chance, I want another team to give him a chance. He would have a chance for legitimate playing time on a team like the 76ers. On the Cavs, he would be the guy at the end of the bench taking up a spot that they need for a center. Price has had plenty of chances to shine and also SHINE, but has done neither. God certainly has a plan for him… it just might not be in the NBA. We won’t know until that time comes.
