The Browns final drive, and hoping for momentum
September 17, 2014Cavs Zine 5 is printing championship rings
September 17, 2014It’s prediction season for the NBA. The offseason is largely decided, so now everyone’s slotting teams. So do the Cleveland Cavaliers take the top spot in the East? Long-time New York Times scribe Howard Beck gives them 57 wins. Ric Bucher, however, says that despite having three of the top 20 players in the league, they’ll finish fourth behind the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors.
I guess it’s better than last year. The Bulls appear to be the smart money non-Cavs team at the top of most Eastern Conference previews. There’s no doubt that Washington and Toronto improved from two seasons ago to last. That said, I’m glad they play the games.

our third best player just played better than the bulls best player.

Trolling for attention I forgot all about Bucher. I don’t see either Washington or Toronto finishing ahead of Cleveland. And just like the new Cavaliers having to learn each other so will the new Bulls. And Derrick Rose has to show he can stay on the court. Even if he does I don’t see the Bulls having enough talent to outdo the Cavaliers.
For the Cavaliers it’s about learning each other while they learn/run what their new head coach wants. Once they do that, barring injuries, the sky should be the limit.
If the Cavs finish 4th in the East, without any major injuries, there should be an investigation. And BEHIND Washington AND Toronto? Chile, please.
Don’t have a huge prob with the guy’s prediction as much as his methodology. He said even the team’s “star” is a stranger to defense. I don’t think that’s true at all – LeBron is an elite defender – and I don’t think Washington can beat this team in the playoffs. Having said that, the total lack of NBA playoff experience by Irving, Love and the head coach, and integrating all this talent in a single season means plenty when the team will try to win 3 straight playoff series.
This off-season did not automatically punch their Finals ticket. I fully expect some losing streaks that will have everybody up in arms, much like the Heat in 2010. Everything and everyone would have to immediately mesh perfectly for that not to happen, and that’s an unreasonable expectation. Even LeBron said as much in his letter.
Could it be he has them being better than the other teams #2/#3 but just seeded 4th due to how seeding works?
I hope to see more of this, more fuel for the fire.
Oh you mean this guy?

Ric Bucher works for the Warriors (essentially)… the team who decided that Klay Thompson is too important of a piece to deal for Kevin Love. This prediction feels like nothing more than Bucher being a company man and backing his organization’s decision. Because Kevin Love isn’t that much of a difference-maker and has NEVER EVEN BEEN TO THE PLAYOFFS!!N!1! AMIRIGHT?!Q

Not putting the Cavs #1 is fine. They will take some time to get acclimated to each other and it will inevitably lead to a few losses. But behind both the Wizards and Raptors seems to be silliness.
Regardless, all that matters is making the play offs. Once they’re there, no team wants a piece of the Cavs.
O.K. Ric Bucher your entitled to your prediction but don’t worry about my home town cavaliers
worry about Washington bullets shooting blanks!
no need to worry, bucher is just joking…..or maybe just being pathetic…..
I wonder if this troll-happy blogger would be willing to put his money where his mouth (so to speak) is. I fully expect the talent-laden Cavs to experience some growing pains, but only an ignoramus truly believes that Cleveland will finish lower than second in the East (behind Chicago.) They will finish at worst 50-32 this year. There’s simply NO chance that four teams in the impotent Eastern Conference will win 50+ games. That’s a mathematical impossibility.
Toronto and Washington ahead of the Cavs??
You should be fired for being ignorant
