Buzz Bissinger: Any hatred of LeBron is insane

September 19, 2014Another Cleveland Browns fan has written another song. The latest: A ballad for Cleveland kid and Browns starting quarterback Brian Hoyer, sang to the tune of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”
Big shout out to Sam Allard from Cleveland Scene Magazine for putting the song into a full, three-plus minute video, complete with all of their Hoyerisms. How about a quick passage?
You used to back up other men
and all you ever learned from them
was how to study someone who outscored ya
But we dressed you up in orange and brown
and put you in with Weeden down
like that, the team was tougher than Sequoia
On the evening of the draft, with question marks at quarterback
were you pleased to see us trade down for a corner?
Then we traded up from 26, and took Manziel—
did that make you sick?
Did you feel you’ve been duped by your employer?
Brian Hoyer…Brian Hoyer…
It’s no “Bernie, Bernie,” but the quality is pretty damn good. Just don’t expect Jeff Buckley’s voice and you’re all good.

If Cleveland was in Europe and the Browns were a “proper” Futbol Club, the chorus of this song would rain down from the stands throughout the game from the tens of thousands of fans, and it would be the single greatest thing that ever happened.

hey thanks!
Weird.
This deserves an Emmy, an Oscar, an ESPY, and possibly a Razzie.
The guy sings like me, but it’s great anyway!
