Behold! The WFNY Cavs Newsletter
September 30, 2014The WFNY Cavs newsletter with Brian Spaeth – WFNY Podcast – 2014-09-30
September 30, 2014It appears the Cavs are bringing navy blue back into the mix. Though predominantly wine and gold since June of 2010 and the “New Expression”, this sneak peak video of the Cavs’ new floor sheds some light on further changes to the upcoming season. It also seems to infer that we’re taking the wayback machine to the pre-Miami years for LeBron James.
The replies on Twitter collectively seem to believe that this is a sign of future uniform changes for the team. We know that the Browns are getting new unis for next season, and Wahoo appears to be on his way out for the Tribe. So, yeah—why the heck not?
(Update: Here’s the rumored mock of the entire floor, complete with CLE skyline)
(Update 10/1: The Cavs confirm creation and installation of the new floor.)
Ready to fill up @TheQArena tonight, Cleveland? #WGScrimmage tips off at 7PM.

Excellent if true. The mustard gold works much, much better as a trim than as a prominent color on the uniform.
Also looks like a hint of the CLE skyline on the side line. Nice touch.
Wow that is ugly. Huge downgrade.
Ugh.
This. All Day Long…
But this is the practice floor, not the Q floor, so wouldn’t matter to me if they saw the red floor and wanted to paint it black.
I was just about to say this – unless the Q just got much, much smaller in order to make those seats all the more “premium.”
I’m pretty sure it’s in design mode—hence, not at The Q now, but will be transported there eventually. I can’t imagine they lay out all of the wood at The Q and then paint it there to see how it looks, right?
Dan Gilbert’s tweet was “Ok Cavs fans, you got a taste of the Q’s new ‘Humongatron’ last week Here’s a chunk of our new floor.” I took it as the Q’s new floor. And I believe Scott is correct that they would design and paint the floor at a different location and then transport it in. That facility just looks like a generic rec facility, not anything the Cavs would use for practice.
I like the blue around the court and I like the city skyline aspect, but I can’t say I am wild about the blue outline around the C logo. Maybe I need to see a better picture of it, but it seems weird.
I am a big fan of the C with the vertical sword through it. I’d rather see that in the middle…but it seems like we very well could be seeing a different court design every year with the way Gilbert is throwing the money around.
well, that’s what computer programs are for. They know exactly how it will look. But in any case doesn’t matter how it looks. After the off-season personnel improvements I’d be happy watching this team play in a drained swimming pool.

I never saw the Humongatron did u?
He’s making his neighbor next door look bad and he didn’t need a Sin Tax to help!
Just the picture of the framing structure. I assume he was just trying to give us an idea of how big it would be.
Like the skyline, like the blue, and always a fan of the Musketeers motto. But the coloring inside the three point lines is ugly, and the GIANT C logo is just…bad. Cheap. Either get a more imaginative image for center court, or make that one significantly smaller.
Or just go back to the orange and blue days.
And please tell me this means the ketchup and mustard mess of uniforms we’ve been trotting out for the past few years are on the way out. The sooner, the better.
