Breaking down Browns and Steelers with @SteelersDepot – WFNY Podcast – 2014-10-10
October 10, 2014Cavaliers tickets jump 458% in secondary market with return of LeBron James
October 11, 2014I wrote this morning about the Browns / Steelers rivalry, but it could be an uphill battle for the Browns defense. We already knew that Phil Taylor had surgery and will be out, but it couldn’t stop there, could it?
Meanwhile, this is after a week where we told you that Barkevious Mingo (22 snaps) and Justin Gilbert (8 snaps) were unable to get themselves on the field, presumably due to performance issues. Isn’t that great? The Browns’ healthy options are guys the team doesn’t seem to want on the field.
It sounds like there could be a lot of play from John Hughes, Ishmaa’ily Kitchen, Armonty Bryant, K’Waun Williams and others if the Browns’ primary starters are unable to go. That’s pretty bad news when you consider that the Browns will have to try and slow down Le’Veon Bell and Ben Roethlisberger this Sunday. In the first game, Roethlisberger threw for 365 yards, a TD and an interception and Le’Veon Bell ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown.
Maybe the Browns can win in a shootout…

The injuries to the Browns aren’t great, but fortunately the Steelers are dealing with injury issues in their defense, too. Ryan Shazier, Ike Taylor, Jarvis Jones, and Shamarko Thomas are all out.
yeah, I don’t think we have been hit particularly hard overall. More injuries on defense than average, less on offense. Of course, the defense was playing terribly anyway, so let’s be thankful that the offense is remaining relatively healthy thus far.
Call me the eternal optimist, but with as poorly as Rubin and Taylor have been playing, I have a hard time believing the defense would be worse with Kitchen and Hughes in their place.
The defense improved when Mingo was out. Classic Bust.
