LeBron the MVP favorite, Royals sweep into World Series: While We’re Waiting…
October 16, 2014Week 6 Film Room: The Defense
October 16, 2014It’s a permanent silly season around LeBron James. Everything he does is subject to hyper-analysis. The latest story? Did LeBron James “forget” that he left the Heat and accidentally set a pick on his teammate Matthew Dellavadova? LeBron says, “No, stupid.”
“For non-basketball people,” James began with a smirk when asked about the apparent blooper before the Cavs played the Indiana Pacers in Cincinnati on Wednesday, “our coverage is for me to show and for Delly [Dellavedova] to go under me and we just didn’t get the call right at the time. Delly was supposed to slide under me and we kind of ran into each other.
“So, for non-basketball people, they like to critique everything that I do. It’s stupid.”
For those that might not remember the play, here’s a GIF.
The “non-basketball people” line is perfect for several reasons, chief of which being that some believed the best basketball player in the world, who just happened to make one of the biggest, plate-shifting decisions this past summer, could actually forget what team he was on—well, jokes on them. But at least they got the clicks, right?
Strap in folks, because this is still just the pre-season. Just wait until the ball is bouncing for real in the regular season. I’m telling you, if this Cavaliers team struggles even for a couple days, the bullets are going to fly around the NBA media circles and blogs. Just make sure you’re ready.

The mainstream media’s disdain for all things non-NY, Miami, Chicago, LA, Boston will never be more evident than it will be this year.
“I’m for wasting sportswriters’ time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give ’em all a nice big sh*tburger to eat!”
– Lou Brown
Don’t worry I’m sure WKNR and the fan will freak out for all of us.
Some really stupid stories these days I don’t know which is worse this or the whole Brian Hoyer contract thing drummed up by a scrub from Bleacher report.
We’re better than this. The mainstream media lapped up San Antonio’s team play and they freaking love the Royals right now. The media likes a good story that gets clicks. End of story.
Every little thing that Lebron does always has been over-analyzed.
“if this Cavaliers team struggles even for a couple days, the bullets are going to fly around the NBA media circles and blogs.”
Is absolutely true. The Heat took a ton of crap for starting out around .500 in Lebron’s first year there, and took a lot more grief after the season than a NBA runner-up usually gets.
I can’t believe this is a thing. Although that sure does look like a pick. Just own it and have some fun with it, Bron, and it will go away. This isn’t exactly Jim Marshall running the wrong way.
Not sure which is more funny, the thought that he did set a pick for the wrong team….
or when i read this article i thought it said it was BY: Craig Lyndall in FEATURED, HAIRLINES
Truth.
Hoyer leading Browns to victories = 50 clicks.
HOYER HATES MANZIEL AND WONT SIGN WITH TEAM UNTIL HE’S GONE = 5000 clicks.
The Royals are a great story. I’m loving it. But lets see if they win it all. If they do they will have made the most of nearly three decades of futility. But they will have won it all which is more then can be said of the Indians who choked away not one but two chances in the past twenty years.
Don’t forget blowing a 3-1 lead to Boston to throw away our chance to stomp the Rockies.
Ah, back to the Cleveland bashing. I’m glad that’s you enjoy Cleveland sports enough to come here and poke the stick at the people who want to see the local teams do well.
What’s the line? Have a good day?
Well that was more of a Boston highlight for me but yes that too.
No sorry pal I’m giving the Royals credit unlike you who seems to want to do the opposite. You want to play up the whole injustice of small markets only when it suits the Indians instead of rejoicing that another team in a small market just got into the WS.
And you could never steal my lines son, never!
He did say “non basketball people” with a smirk though.
That was OUR World Series, man.
1997 will forever haunt me that was your world series!
I’ll kindly ask that you not put words in my mouth. I’ve only not given the Royals credit in the deep dark recess above your shoulders.
HAVE A NICE DAY MR. ROBOTO!
