Cleveland Indians attendance and TV numbers, analytics consultant leaves Cavs: While We’re Waiting…
October 2, 2014The sights and sounds of Cavaliers Wine and Gold scrimmage
October 2, 2014LeBron James may have dazzled fans during the first “half” of Wednesday night’s Wine and Gold Scrimmage, but he turned one fan’s night into something she’ll never forget.
Jackie Custer is a 16-year-old Cavs fan with leukemia. She attended the Cavaliers’ scrimmage and was one of the fans chosen to take home one of the jerseys following the night’s events. Fortunately for her, this tough girl was treated with the jersey and embrace of James.

Earlier this fall, Custer revealed that her cancer was also met with a stroke and in infection, but that the fight would continue on. Knowing that she would lose her hair with her treatment, she preemptively cut it off and donated it to Locks of Love. “It was an emotional moment for Jackie and her parents, but knowing that she would soon lose her hair, she wanted to find a way to give back while she still could.”
She’s pretty much the most awesome person ever, and has a LeBron jersey (and litany of pictures) to show for it.
