October 19, 2014Cleveland Browns Inactives: Defensive line thin again this week
October 19, 2014Any time a player is traded in the NFL, a fun exercise is to do a search on Twitter that includes said player’s name and “Browns.” In the latest round, it was Seattle trading wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets for what amounted to a conditional mid-round draft pick. Some fans wondered why Cleveland didn’t pounce on such an opportunity, but it turns out they had their chance.
NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport reports that the Browns and Denver Broncos were among the first teams contacted by the Seahawks, but Seattle’s asking price was a pair of Pro Bowl-caliber tight ends in Jordan Cameron and Julius Thomas.
Both teams reportedly balked at the Seahawks’ offer and Harvin and his questionable attitude were sent to New York. The Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were reportedly also in the mix.

What is this a remake of Draft Day? Thank goodness this didn’t happen a year ago! #Bannered
Seattle trying to unload a troublemaker for Pro Bowlers is a joke.
Thank God they said no.
Another check in the plus column for Ray Farmer.
good move, Farmer. However, if Harvin was on a $2million contract I would have taken the chance.
If Harvin didnt have a bloated contract and an attitude problem Farmer should have pulled the trigger. The reality though is that Harvin is a financial and locker room disaster, so declining the offer was probably smart.
Ha laughable
Trouble maker on and off the field, and he thinks he needs to be involved in every offensive play. I thought he was getting used a lot in seattle. He didn’t so he lets everyone know. Pass
