Peace out, Preseason: Chad Zumock
October 23, 2014NFL trade deadline might be a lost cause
October 23, 2014Looking for yet another reason to love Andrew Hawkins? The Cleveland Browns wide receiver posted a video to his Instgram account that features him booting his two-year-old son from his house for referring to AJ Green as his favorite player.
Greeen (and Mohamed Sanu), obviously, were teammates of Hawkins when the shifty slot receiver played in Cincinnati. The tongue-in-cheek production was perfect, complete with split scenes.

Luckily for young Austin Hawkins, who is decked out in Browns colors, that Pokémon suitcase was at the ready. Get the kid an IMDB page.

Kelly Dwyer child abuse column in 3, 2, 1….
Haslam doesn’t own a mortgage company. I don’t know Dwyer’s feelings about “big oil” ;0
I don’t blame Hawkins. Who really thinks that AJ is better than Calvin anyway?
(also, that kid is 2yo?)
If the Browns’ Hawkins is “Baby Hawk”, is his son “Super Baby Hawk”? This was pretty funny, good stuff.
Yep. Feb 15, 2012.
My son is 14 days older. I win.
Baby Hawk just disgusted us in the worst way humanly possible!
Pretty funny!!

How’s that NFL career shaping up?
He’s really small for his age, but pretty good at kicking things up into my face… I envision him as a place kicker or punter.
He just looks so much older. That kid is going to be a monster for the Browns in 2034.
Hardest positions to obtain in the NFL. Not only do backups not exist, but players tend to have lengthy careers.
You might want to start working on his long-snapping instead 😉
As long as idiot kickers are getting liquored up or hurting themselves during acts of celebration, there will always be open kicker jobs in the NFL 🙂
My son is 19 days older. I win!
Maybe someday they will both be part of the Browns 2038 championship team.
WFNY administrators: I seldom comment on the graphics, layout, etc. simply because I generally like everything about your site. But the photo on the homepage for this story, with the abbreviated headline, scared the crap out of me when I first logged on yesterday. I see a blurred image of a boy standing with his head down with the words “Video: Andrew Hawkins kicks son” over it.
I clicked fully expecting to read something horrible. Thankfully, I read and watched and realized that Andrew Hawkins is fricking hilarious (“(sigh)… good luck…”) and Baby Hawk is superstar in waiting. Did anyone else have this reaction?
yes. the exact reaction. I found it made the actual video funnier (oh, thank goodness, it’s funny), but I did wonder how many people didn’t click and may have seen it.
Same here. Obviously inadvertent by WFNY. In 2013 or 2015 we’d have barely noticed.
The photo is now larger, enabling the full headline. Much better.
I too thought this was an article about Hawkins kicking his son. Truncating headlines just to serve some dubious layout requirement should not be acceptable to anyone, let alone an otherwise excellent site like this.
In my unsolicited opinion, WFNY still needs to clean up the design of the top of the home page. There are too many photos, incomplete headlines, and no logic as to which stories get the larger photos and which get the smaller photos. The layout is hindering clear communication. Layout should enhance the written word; this does the opposite.
Now that the new car smell has worn off your redesign, I hope you will realize that the top of the page is broken and you should fix it.
